Hi Saje,

Welcome to the boards! They're an informative place where you're able to find out lots of info. I used to live in a Northern town (just moved back to Ontario 2 weeks ago) and I actually know a couple people who live in your town (They fly for HawkAir). It can be tough living in a smaller isolated town to get all the proper diet things and the proper specialists. I found this board, and the friendly folks on it to be extremely helpful.

Cheers!

Hi, thanks for the welcome. It is hard to find some of the food that I want in smaller towns. This ones not too bad. It's on a major highway without much else around so it supplies a lot of the necessities/entertainment for the area.

There is an asian community here so there are a lot of soy/tofu products which I love. There are also all of the major grocery stores here (Wholesale club instead of Superstore). I haven't seen natto yet though which is a great soy product.

As you can see, I like to write.

Thanks for the welcome.

Hi there! and welcome!

about being tired and depressed - well, I know I am.
There is a link between IBS and depression as serotonin (the "mood control" neurotransmitter) is responsible for gut functions as well as emotions. Have a look at the research library to find out more about it. It may or may not explain your periods of downness, but it's interesting stuff in its own right.
As for being tired, well... I think going through all the flavours of tummy and bottom troubles that we do on a regular basis would wear anyone out!

Thanks for the advice! That does sound interesting. I'll head there next.
Saje
