I just gave up my masters place in new york university!!! Arrrggggghhhh! Na, I feel good about it...I went today for my first meeting and was informed by an unfriendly advisor that the whole program was goign to cost me 75000 dollars, as opposed to half of that which I would have paid. PLUS it is not what I wanted...not holistic enough. So thanks NYU for the ego boost of accepting me, but I am going to walk away! My passion really lies in naturopathic nutrition so I am going to follow my heart there...I just had really bad vibes there....

Fair enough! $75000 is half a first home here - there's no point investing that much time, effort and money in something that's not really right for you. Good on you for not being carried away into somethin you'd regret! There'll be something out there that's right for you (and hopefully not as expensive!)

I agree. If it's not exactly what you want why pay so much money to do it? I'm sure there's heaps out there that will suit you much better (and not leave you with a starving wallet). Plus I'm a big believer in instinct. If something feels wrong, it probably is. You did the right thing. Good luck

And I'm proud of you for going with your instinct and not doing something that didn't feel 100% right to you. Good for you!

Hey, totally ditto on the instinct thing. IBS-res have to be in tune with their gut, rihgt?? So you've done the right thing!! One school down! You'll totally know the right school when you see it!!!! Of this, I have no doubt!!

Not crazy at all! if it didn't feel right for you and is beyong expensive, then why do it?! You'll find the right place for you. I'd LOVE to study naturopathic nutrition too.
You go girl!

Yikes! Stinks it didn't work out, but I am glad that you didn't just put on the rose colored glasses and go along with it anyways, it would have just led to unhappiness down the road for you... good luck looking for a new program. is that job offer still on the table?

Hi there, I think it sounds like walking away was the right thing to do. And how chuffed must you be that you got accepted, and then chose not to go! Go ego go! You'll probably be way happier following the path you are more interested in.. especially if the other one was going to cost an arm and a leg for something you didn't really want! Good luck! --Steph

Hey dalia, Im sure what you did was exactly the right thing to do...infact Im positive about it. I really believe in fate and I know it obviously wasnt meant to be. I know you followed your heart when you met your husband and everything...and look how fantastic things have turned out! You'll be fabulous in what you're going to do and Im pretty sure you'll have another great opportunity come around soon.

If it doesn't feel right and isn't what you really want than you made the right decision. That is way too much money to spend doing something you don't want to do.
Good for you! Something better is waiting for you.
