I am NOT in any way affiliated with the product DIGESTIVE ADVANTAGE IBS. I am a 40+ year IBS sufferer who just happened to catch radio commercials for this new product.

I came to this board a few weeks ago asking for information about it. I was advised to do extensive internet searches. OK, fine. (By the way, this is the wierdest "message board" I have ever seen on the internet! Everything is created seemingly ONLY by Heather in a read-only mode, except for THE LIVING ROOM where - instead of personal experiences about IBS maintenance - people talk about their curtains or dog! Just kidding).

Anyway, since I am 52, and my IBS Symptoms became so bad that I was unable to get up for long periods, I was put thru the usual barrage of tests (colonsocopy, catscan, biopsy). NOTHING FOUND so an IBS diagnosis was confirmed.

THanks to Heather, I learned here a great deal about soluable fiber and now begin every single meal with a sour dough biscuit, eat lots of rice, potatoes and pasta (yet, I still have the same waist size I had in college = 32 for a man). This diet helped somewhat, but I was still having "the runs" and a lot of pain in the abdomen. I was afraid to eat anywhere but in my own home.

Then I began taking DIGESTIVE ADVANTAGE IBS. The medical test claims are that 92% of those taking it improved substantially (whatever that means). I was skeptical since we seem to live in a society where lies are the way of doing business. Well, I took the pills and within 2 days my system was better than it has been since I was a boy! All pain is gone. My stools are perfectly formed, no gas, etc. THIS IS AMAZING!

Caveat: IBS is still with me, and I realize that this product is a MANAGEMENT tool. I also have TMD (jaw pain) and realize that even when the pain is gone (after months of therapy and bio-feedback) the underlying weakness persists and I must be disciplined.

I also realize that the term IBS is a blanket designation for very different degrees of pain and suffering. However, mine was quite severe in September, and (as a man) I confess I would break down and cry at times from sheer exhaustion and pain.

Can 1 little pill once a day do miracles? For ME it has. FOr you it may not. But you may wish to give it a try.

Amazing experience: I was invited to a MEXICAN restaurant recently. That would normally fill me with dread. However, I prepared ahead of time by eating 2 sour dough rolls to pad the stomach and took an extra DIGESTIVE ADVANTAGE PILL beforehand (you can take 2 per day). I ordered Fajitas (which is a meal you make yourself). I also had a strawberry marguarita (like a normal person!!!). Result? No abdominal problems. The next day I had a bowel movement that was perfectly formed. If I was not already sitting down, I would have knelt down and thanked this new product.

Can you imagine what it is like to go year after year with the explosive big "D" (often getting up from meals) alternating with periods of constipation and pain, only to have it all just evaporate and now have a normal sytem, like I had as a happy little boy in rural Wisconsin?

Future? I will continue Heather's eating regiment, and use this product. I will also have to deal with stress, since I know that brings on attacks. But I have never felt so comforted and optimistic. Before you go off and have someone lay crystals on your tummy or go into regression therapy or some other extreme treatment modality, give this product a try, or at least discuss it with your doctor.

Welcome to the boards! I'm not so sure the Living Room is the best place for htis post. If you could copy and past it on the Eating for IBS Diet board, that would be great...and you'll get many more responses. Thakns so much, have a super day!

I am sorry that it did not help you...this illness is so bizarre...how some meds help one person and not another...Kinda like IBS is a Personalized Disease!
