Hi everybody.
Well, my computer went crazy right after Bevrs' did. I'm finally up and running, but who knows for how long. My daughter helped me get things going again.

Right now I'm fighting another dad-gummed sinus infection. Antibiotics AGAIN!!! I just can't seem to whip this sinus stuff no matter what I do, but I'm determined to keep trying anyway.

I'm also fighting another case of shingles. It's driving me crazy, but I'm really hoping that I get well soon. I just had a round of shingles this past summer and I get them several times every year. I've been getting them since I was 28.

Ugh!!! Boo!!!! Hiss!!! Arghhh!
That's how I feel right now and I'm fighting depression on top of all this. I'm very sad about being sick again, and again, and again! Plus, I feel like a whiny baby for being tired of it!

Does anybody else ever feel bad for being tired of being sick? I know lots of people have it much worse and I feel guilty for feeling negative. My attitude is really needing a pick me up, but I feel lost to find it.
Terri

BUT....just know that YOU WILL get better again and start feeling great!! I'm sure of it!!! Until then....use all of us for support and don't be too hard on yourself....*HUGS*

TeeCee,
Poor baby. Sinus infections suck & so does depression. I hope you feel better soon. Are shingles like hives? If so, they suck too.

Hang in there! Sometimes it seems like the sickness never goes away. I remember one winter we got sick in November and we were still sick in JUNE! I hate winter.

A friend of mine gives herself one day of sickness, laying on the couch, doing nothing, and then she insists she's not sick anymore! She has 4 kids under 6 so she really does not have time to be sick. Take it easy, lay on the couch, curl up in bed with a cup of tea and a good book and surely you'll feel better soon!

Chin up, the well days will return.
Rena

Terri, you know how well I understand how you are feeling about being sick! Those darned sinus infections, let me tell you, mind did not start to get better until I took the plunge a year ago this coming Jan. I have finally started to be able to work in the yard without wearing a mask! Unheard of before the shots. Yes, I know they are expensive, and I do not remember your insurance status but if you can find a good Allergy Specialist, you will be well on your way. When I first started seeing him, he would have to put me on 2-3 rounds of antibiotics to get me well. Once I took them for 3 months straight, it made me feel horrible. Don't forget to be flushing your sinuses, I saw on tv last week, they were using one of those nasal blulbs you use on babies when they have drainage, you know those blue bulb looking things they bring home from the hospital with them. 2 C. warm water to 1t salt, that sounds like way too much salt for me, I think that would burn.

Honey girl, I have never had Hives in my life, and pray that I never do. But, my grandmother used to have them occassionally and I do remember her suffering terribly. I wish I could tell you some wives tale, or something to help you with the pain. Soooooo sorry you are hurting like this.

BIggggggggggggg, Huggggggggggggge, Huggggggggggggggggs!!! You have to get better soon, there is just nothing else to say about it. I remember you telling me a few months ago that if you could come over to my house, you would put me to bed with a nice warm blanket (not quite sure if you said "nice warm blanket" or not, but it sounds comfy, huh?). THen you would go to the kitchen and make a casserole for me out of noodles, chicken broth, veggies and bake it up so I would have plenty of safe food when I got hungry! Well girl, if I could, I would be over to your house doing the same thing....I would prob have to bring some type of fattening chocolate something or other. HEy, its what we women do when we need comforting.

Come on, take a hot soak, if that sinus infec. isn't getting better soon, call that doc up and tell him. While you are waiting for the recorder at the docs office giving you the run down on what button to push for whomever, make some Peppermint tea and kick back with a warm wash cloth over your aching head.

Hate that depression too honey, wish I could make it all go away. Just keep taking your meds on a regular basis, I always seem to do best if I can make myself take them every day.....sometimes I get so tired of swallowing pills that I revolt and may be off of them for a couple of weeks, thats not good either. I sure hope you are better about that than I am.

When you need me,just call, I will come right on over to take care of you, and bring a comfy blanket and that chocolate stuff. If you need quiet and rest, I will see to it that only the right people can get through to you. If you need company, I will talk and talk, or, let you talk and talk. What ever it takes to get you back on track again! You are just like me, always taking care of everyone else and do nothing for you until it all piles up and you get sick. I know all about it.

I am here if you need to talk more, take the time you need to get well. I miss your sweet way of talking to everyone, I wish I had that gift. I tried anyway!

love you Terri, gayla

How'd I miss this thread? Where have I been?

Sweetie, I'm so sorry you're going through all this crap. MORE shingles?! Oy.

You bet I understand how you're feeling -- oh yeah. I get depressed a LOT because of one sickness after another. If it's not shingles (yes, I get them too), it's a diverticulitis attack. If it's not diverticulitis, it's my damn IBS, if it's not IBS, it's atrophic vaginitis, if it's not atrophic vaginitis, it's yet ANOTHER bladder infection! Then there's the infamous boob itch from hell that STILL hasn't gone away!

Oh yeah, I get depressed a LOT.

But, Girlfriend, you know what? I read posts from Ruchie or LS or JenX, and it wakes me up to reality. I correspond with my little friend who has endometriosis, and I realize that my health issues have nothing to do with the fact that I'm getting old. And, while I hate to beat a dead horse, I just totally cannot get Christopher Reeve out of my mind. He was my hero, my inspiration -- and he still is. Terri, he never gave up -- he fought to the bitter end, and never complained, not once. Girlfriend, if that man could do it, you and I can too.

DON'T GIVE UP THE FIGHT! You are NOT alone. We're all in this together -- all of us -- we ALL have a cross to bear. You know that; I'm not telling you anything new. Believe it or not, there are others out there who have it a LOT worse than all of us. We can do this -- and we WILL.

Thanks Gayla, for being so compassionate. The shingles are clearing up, and that's a BIG help. The sinus infection is still hanging on to me. I'm on a 2 week round of antibiotics, so I'll give it a try and then call him back if it doesn't clear up.

Thanks again for the advice.
I hope to visit more on the boards after I'm better!
You're a precious friend,
Terri

Thanks for lifting me up, Bevrs. I know I shouldn't give in to pity and a loathing of being sick, but I couldn't help it. Everything overwhelmed me.

I have a lot going on that I haven't written about on the boards and sometimes, it's just a lot to bear. I can't complain about it any place, but here; so that's what I did.

Thanks again, Bevrs.
That was nice of you to help.
Terri
