Well we have officially exchanged on our house and will complete on Friday. I'm now trying to book a removal van for a week on monday, so it's all go!!

I can't quite believe it after waiting for over 5 months!

Hopefully I will wake up as my antid's have left me totally zonked.

The best thing is that I can get my 2 kittens, and when they are old enough a dog. I have been waiting for kittens for 3 years now while living in stupid rented property.

I can't wait, they are going to be so gorgeous!!

:-)

New kittens, a log fire and I can eat chocolate again. Life is finally starting to pick up after a crap year.

See Ruchie - it does get better eventually! I just hope you get better soon and that stupid fibro doesn't depress you too much. We'll have to compare notes on dogs when I get mine, as you will be a pro at looking after them.

See you all soon,

Catherine

I agree - it's about damn time! Heh. Woohoo!! I'm still riding high on my own house excitement, and it's making me DOUBLY excited to know you're finally going to be in your new place, too.

A home of your own is the best, no doubt about it. Even though the place is in complete chaos right now, with junk in the living room and people working on the roof, I'm so HAPPY when I wake up every morning and make tea in MY kitchen that I just can't even believe it. Wishing you many, many of those kinds of small happinesses!

That's great news Catherine, best of luck with the move. I can sympathise with the delays...We viewed our house on January 20th last year, our offer was accepted first week in April and we exchanged first week of June, and closed 11th July. All the delays drove me crazy, and I am a solicitor so I understood what was happening and knew that the delays were ridiculous and purely the fault of the vendor's solicitor. At one stage the other solicitor told mine (a friend who acted for me) that the house wasn't freehold but leasehold with only 15 years to run....I went crazy! (it was complete lies) I am so glad I didn't act for myself, I would have been WAY too emotionally involved!

They also phoned us to close before they had sent all the documents to my solr including a "burden" on the title that could have been anything- it ended up just being the right of the Local Authority to enter our garden because there is a manhole there.

Anyway I really understand the frustrations you guys have been going through. I am just thankful that our place worked out so well, we are here over a year now and still have tons of DIY to do, but I agree with Casey, there is something fantastic about cooking in your own kitchen or sitting on your own couch.
