Remember back a few months ago when I was having so many problems with my in-laws and thier behavior? Every one of you were so loving and supportive. I was told that it was time for me to move on, take better care of myself, and spend more time with my mom and sis!

Guess what? Thats exactly what I have done, the three of us have been busy all summer going and doing, hitting lots of sales the last few weeks and having a blast. We laugh and giggle all of the time, I tell you all, I could not have recieved better advice, and I actually followed it to the letter.

We are going a cruise the three of us, leaving Saturday. Yayayayayayya!!! My step dad gave it to us as a gift, how sweet is that ?

I now understand why my mom was not feeling well, no energy, very tired and depressed through all of this. I also understand the gift of the cruise.

My mom is very ill, she does not know that we (me and sis) know about it. She wanted to keep it quiet until after the trip, but my step dad leaked it to my son......I am heartbroken that she thinks we will be better off not knowing. Through much discussion, tears, and prayers, we have decided to talk to her about it tonight. There is no need for her to keep this heavy weight on her heart and deal with it on her own. We are going to bring it out into the open, tell her we are going to take care of her, be by her side...the whole nine yards. We want to go on this cruise without a black cloud lingering over our heads, and acting like nothing is wrong when it is. I truly think she will be so relieved, and feel so loved. She has Leukemia, we need to know what point she is at in her progression and treatment. I am the oldest, so, this is the first time I have had to step into a leadership role, I am going to need lots of prayer and support. Iknow there are so many great things happening with Leukemia today, and she could live a long time. I pray it is so. We are going to have a great time and eat good food. I just hope I can behave and not have an attack.

Regarding the chemical release, I went to the Dr. with chest pain last week, diagnosed with Costrochondritis (inflamation of the cartilege surrounding the ribs) it is very very painful. The treatment did not last, I called the Dr. back yesterday, told me to see an internest before the end of the day yesterday, well, that was notgoing to happen. I did get an appointment today at 10:15, I begged them to work me in as a new patient, they were great about it. Now, I am so afraid I may be suffering the after effects of inhaling this gas, it came into my house, we smelled it in the kitchen. I have dead grass in the front of my yard, and lost landscaping plants due to the fall out. The company came out and took soil and grass andplant samples. they called me yesterday and told me they had just shipped them off to the lab. Results in 2 weeks. The EPA are involved and the Texas Air Quality Control Board. I doubt anything will be done. Thats how they all operate.

I am also afraid this could be my heart, and if they decide to send me to Houston today because of that, I may not get to go on the cruise. Being my mom is in the condition she is in, I am NOT going to miss this boat. I intend on being there, I pray this problem can wait util I get home. IF it is my heart, they won't wait to treat it period. Crap.

Please be thinking of me, I need prayers, love, and support. I do not know how I am going to get through this. My mom is a sweet, patient, kind, loving woman, who tends to be a little bossy!!

Time for me to get dressed and off on my day. Iwon't be home until late. I cannot tell you all how much your love and support mean to me. Through all of this, I have been suffering from cramps, and I have gone from C back to A.
Oh well, I will survive for tomorrow is another day. Thanks for being there, I love you all!!!!! or, (ya'll).

Hi Gayla,

Sweetie, you are just going through more right now than any person should. I will certainly have you in my thoughts and prayers. I know how you feel about your mom. I am very close with my mom, too. She is 85 and so far in good health but I know that there are probably problems ahead.

I agree that you should tell your mom that you know about her condition. My mom is just like yours and wouldn't want us to worry. I think you will enjoy the cruise more if everyone is out in the open. I feel sure that her condition is treatable and she will be OK.

Gayla, I really don't think you have a heart problem. Costo can mimic heart trouble and lot of people that have it think it is their heart. Please let me know what the doc says.

I had a crisis yesterday, too. My mentally ill niece (33 yrs old) caught her room on fire (she lives with my sister) and they took her to the psycho ward. I went to my sister's house yesterday to help her clean up. Thankfully most of the damage was confined to one area of the room. But, there is a fine film of soot all over the furniture, etc. While I was there, I got a headache and raspy throat from the left over smoke. I am OK today.

Sending bunches of hugs to you
Barbie

Thanks Sweet Barbie,

I can only make it through today by the Grace of God.

I am actually feelin better today, but I am going on ahead to see this new Dr., I am sure he will tell me the same thing.

Hate to hear of your sisters troubles, she is blessed to have you for a sis.

You have my prayers and my best wishes. I almost lost my mom two years ago to blood clots that had traveled to her lungs and heart. I know how hard it can be to face that loss. I hope you are able to make that boat. I hope your Doc can help you. I think it is wonderfull the way you are going to be there for your mom and sis and step dad. You also need to rember to take of yourself through all of this.

Good luck and BIG HUGS
I will be praying.

Gayla,
I'm so sorry to hear about all of your troubles. Your Mom is lucky to have you for a daughter and I know you're lucky to have her, too. My Mom has a lot of physical troubles, and I know how hard it is.

You're right about the oldest being the leader, but in these kind of situations, the other siblings often step in and help. You can always delegate things to someone else, when you need to.

I hate to hear of your physical suffering. What a burden to have to bear! I know that God will get you through all of this.

I'm kind of at a loss for words. Just know that I am thinking of you often and praying for you, too. I feel sad with you.

Terri
