I cannot begin to tell you the anger I felt yesterday when I saw my MOM, and she told me this story!

The "Oncologist" as he calls himself, told her she had Leukemia, she asked him to write it down for her so she could remember the exact name of it. He did. She and stepdad went back last week for a follow up, he told her he had never told her she had Cancer, she explained the first visit to him, he repeated that HE had never told her that.

Now, what kind of stupid idiot is this?? To put her through all of the worrying, depression, and everything else that goes along with digesting this diagnonsis. I felt so bad for her. She is making an appointment today at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston. I told her she had to call today, when we return home from the cruise, we are taking her. She seemed so relieved that she does not have to carry this on her own. Its going to be ok, because I am going to see to it that it is !!!!! After about 10 min. we were laughing and giggling and carrying on about our trip.

I am so appreciative of everyones outpouring of Love and Support, I cannot tell you how much you all mean to me. I hope I can be as supportive and loving to ya'll.

As for my Dr. appt., I love this new Dr., he is so attentive, thorough, and kind. I even forgot to tell him I had IBS until he started to examine me. He started spurting out IBS info right and left, I didn't tell him I already knew all of it, I was just so appreciative and shocked that he knew so much. The chest pain IS the Costrochondritis hanging on, its just going to take a while for it to work its way out, . At least I know what it is. HE is also sending me for blood work, and testing for everything imagineable. After all of these years, I have not been tested for Celiac. That was the first thing he mentioned.
I have to tell you, I am in awe. I love this guy!!! How blessed could I be?

As for the cruise, it has not been canceled because of the hurricane. I hear we will probably go on a cruise to nowhere, I guess that means we will go out far enough so the passengers can't see land and go around in big circles?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, and thats good enough for us. We just want to have fun !!

Gods Blessings to you all, I will update when we know more.

Thank ya'll again !

Hi Gayla,

Boy, you sure have had a time of it, haven'tcha!? Wow!

I have not read any of the responses you got to your post, which are numerous (I imagine you've gotten a LOT of terrific support), so I apologize if I am just repeating what everyone else has said.

I'm blown away that a doctor could make such an error as they did with your mom. I know they're human, but come on! That's quite a boo-boo! Wow. I hope her visit to the new medical center brings better, more reliable, news.

On the other hand, I have to say your mom is very fortunate to have you guys. You're awesome, you and your sis.

When is the cruise? Is there any way you could change it, or change the date? Maybe cruise somewhere else besides hurricade country? (The inland passage is supposed to be gorgeous.) Wouldn't it be better to cruise AFTER you get your medical situation under control? Kinda like a celebration of life? Just a thought...

Just remember, Gayla, the Lord does not overbuden us beyond our capacity to cope. Damn, that sure sounds trite, doesn't it?! Sorry.

I'd sue that chemical company.

Bev

Hi Gayla,

Does this mean that your mom doesn't have Leukemia? My mom has a lady in her senior citizens club that was
mis-diagnosed with uterine cancer and she didn't have it after all.

I certainly hope this will be good news for your mom. I am outraged at the doc that mislead her? I could just spit nails for what he put her through. MD Anderson is a great hospital and I'm sure she will get the best of care there.

On a good note....so happy you like your doc! I told you it was probably costo. Now you don't have to worry. Just get better.

Have a great time on the cruise. You deserve it.

I couldn't imagine going through all of the upset of coming to terms with being diagnosed with leukemia to later be told that you actually don't. One of my very close friends was just diagnosed with leukemia last week and she's only 24. I know how much that has effected all of us and I couldn't fathom then being told that wasn't true. Well I happy for her that she doesn't have it, but I hope she startes feeling better soon. Have fun on your cruise too! I hope the hurricane doesn't effect you too much--it's headed straight over the coast of where I live so we're keeping our fingers crossed! I won't complain about the couple days of school they've already tancelled though-I've needed a break! Well best of luck to you and your family!

It's good to hear from you. Sorry you seem to be having so many problems. Hope everything will get better.

Thanks for being concerned about me. My niece is in a psychiatriac hospital for now. Don't know how long. She is getting therapy. My sister is getting lots of help from friends, family and neighbors.

Hugs to you
