Iam writing this as I wait for my hubby to get home so I can take kitty to vet. He is pooping blood and crying the whole time he is doing it. I am so scared. I can't lose this cat. It will break my daughter's heart but I also can't spend a ton of money on it either. I can spare a couple hundred but other than that I am screwed. God everyone say a prayer. I am just so freaked . First time pet owner here so maybe I am over reacting I don't know i let you know when I get back Hubby is home.

Hi there Heather. Sorry your poor kitty is sick. When did she start acting sick? Could she have gotten into anything? My dog got pretty sick last year and was vomiting and she had diareha. She too had blood in her poop. My vet said that can happen when they get sick and in most cases it's nothing to be to worried about. I gave my dog kayopectaid. And rice made with chicken broth.

Good luck. I hope everything is ok! Let us know what you find out!

Poor baby...Your daughter is having a rough time, with her being sick and now her kitty. Has the kitten had any vaccinations? I had a cat do that, and he had feline leukemia. I hope that's not the case. Maybe he just ate something. My brother's cat ate a string (a wide shoelace about 12" long). She did the same thing until she finally passed it. Good luck and I'll be praying for you!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
Kitten is fine he has a tummy bug. They gave him some Antibiotics and some fluid. Told me to keep an eye on him and to follow up with my Vet on tuesday. 250 DOLLARS. YIKES
But it was worth it to know he is ok.
Thanks Again.

I'm glad to hear that you're kitten is okay and that it wasn't anything too serious

I just wanted to mention the idea of pet insurance to you, I actually have it for my cat and it's been really great, mine is pretty affordable, and it covers a whole whack of stuff so you don't get stuck with big vet bills. I've got mine through Petcare Insurance, I'll add a link so you can check it out if you want: http://www.petcareinsurance.com/

It's a boy. So Milo is his name. How cute we both have cats named Milo.

Hi Heather,

I'm so glad that kitty will be OK. I know how you feel about the cost. We just spent about $200 on our dog. He had a sebaceous cyst drained & antibiotics. The antibiotics were about $70 for 8 days. WOW! Anyway, as long as we can afford it we will continue to give him the best care because he is just like one of our kids. He has been with us 12 yrs and worth every penny.

Good luck with little kitty.

I'm sorry to hear about your kitten. I think It depends on how old she is, it might be a simple thing like changing her food to fast or maybe, she has a parasite or a worm, But both very harmless if caught early. She'll be ok...andd so will you and your daughter..no worries

My cat ate a shoelace once and I took her to the vet and she told me that the cat just has to "pass" it on its own. She told me not to pull the lace when I see it coming out cuz it could pull out her intestines....

So everytime my poor cat pooed I had to cut the shoelace so it wasn't hanging out of her bum...hahaha....really gross but it made for some funny pictures!!!

God bless you!!! That's hilarious! -what a great way to end a stressful week.

-gotta be sure I have those treats ready when "Frankie" visits, tonight. Otherwise, he'll rough me up a bit.

Take care, Bob.

LOL! I didn't notice the date on the other part of this thread until you replied. Duh!! Wake up Rachel! I was responding to your "sick kitty" post. Ah well, how's he feeling since the surgery?? Annabelle was NEVER slowed down. I had to keep her locked in a room for 10 days to keep her from running around like a little freak and opening her wounds.
