Hi. I am a 47 year old male and have had IBS my whole life. I am 5-10 and only weigh 135lbs. I exercise regularly, no aerobics, and just can't seem to gain a pound as I am very sensitive to many foods. Does anyone know of any high calorie foods that are BOTH healthy and allow you to gain weight that are easy on my stomach? Thank you in advance. Jack

Hi Jack! I actually have quite a bit of experience with needing to gain weight...here are some foods that work well for me:
- Saltine crackers (relatively high calorie for the volume)
- Small handfuls of nuts
- Bananas mashed with low fat peanut butter powder (Amazing stuff - http://www.bellplantation.com/!!!)
- Vanilla soy milk with chocolate syrup, or chocolate soymilk
- Duocal (more amazing stuff - especially if you're able to get insurance coverage like I was able to! http://www.myduocal.com/)
- Cliff Builder's protein bars
- Syrups, jams, honeys...
- Homemade cookies (Modify recipes by using 2 egg whites per egg, applesauce instead of oil, and of course white flour. I also increase the sugar a bit or add a few chopped nuts sometimes for more calories)
- smoothies and shakes (made with frozen bananas, non dairy ice cream, small scoops of nut butters, coco powder, soymilk etc.)
Hope that helps a little!
