Hi all,

So tomorrow I am running a half-marathon. This will be my third, and I'm not too concerned about the running part. Granted, I didn't train quite as much as I would have liked to due to IBS issues, but I've done enough so that I hopefully won't collapse However, my question is what should I eat the night before? I know I should have carbs, so I was thinking of pasta with some sort of protein. I just want to make sure it is safe enough so I don't have any IBS difficulties during the race (13 miles is quite a long way!). It's also frustrating because I won't be able to eat in the morning before the race (I can never eat before I run because I get crazy side-stitches) so I want to have a solid meal the night before, but overeating is a huge trigger for me. So do any athletes/runners/people who exercise out there have any advice at all? Thanks, all comments would truly be appreciated!

Congrats on doing another 1/2 marathon.... I'm walking one myself Nov 25th! It will be my second year.

The pasta (carb load) is a great idea... stay away from tomato based sauces to prevent any trouble on the run do chicken breast.... see the receipe index for lots of ideas, keep it simple.... Also for the morning of and during the race, throw a few Luna bars in your pack..... they are small in volume once you chew them and they will give you the "fuel" to make it to the finish line!! Get the "Toasted Nut N' Cranberry" flavor..... it is not messing and very satisfying.

GOOD LUCK!!
