After a year of my GP trying to figure out why I kept visiting him and why acid reducers were not helping my mysteriously upset stomach I went to see a gastro specialist and am now an official member of this website. This clubs initiation was something new for me. Having all that radioactive goo pumped into me at the imaging lab was interesting. I always thought I'd have to buy dinner for a woman first before we get that intimate My symtoms that started last year were that every now and then I felt like I had to throw up and from that got anxious and basically uncomfortable. My longest spell was 14 hours long while the whole time feeling like someone tied my intestines to a brick and suddenly hurled it across the room! Usual spell is about 8 hours long. My only comfort was sleeping on a towel in the bathroom on my stomach. These spells would often hit me if I were out late. It all began around the same time that I became under a huge amount of stress at work.
The good news: My last spell was about a month ago and since then I've been trying to solve this (mind over matter / JEDI style). I still feel more comfortable sleeping on my stomach though. I cut out the super high fibre diet and decided to live "normal" (too much fibre is bad!). I paint now too and feel like an artist trapped in a banker (the paying job). I find painting and other stress reducing activities help a lot. Can anyone else here relate?

LOL...I liked your 'bump' post.
I can't related specifically to your story, but wanted to welcome you here. You might find more responses if you posted this on the Diet board. That's a really active board. The people here are great!

I really do understand about the stress part. when i get nervous about something or upset, it usually sends me to the restroom. not fun! i am really trying to get myself to relax which doesn't always work! i have always been an uptight person so it's hard to change. I noticed too if I am not stressed, my stomach will have that "butterfly" nervous feeling and then I know...it's going to be a bad day!

Have you ever thought about ordering the hypnotherapy cd that are available on this Web site. They are wonderful, I did them last year.
