I read about this today in one of the Sunday newspapers- it's a new type of eating disorder where people say eat a Mars bar and then stay on the treadmill until the treadmill counts that they have burned that number of calories, it's a very unhealthy way to eat/live/exercise. I know that I have been guilty of it a few times, and I think that seeing it labelled an eating disorder will definitely make me see sense about it!
Has anyone else heard of it?

As most of you know by now, I had a severe Eating disorder for years...and spent much time in the hospital because of it.
There were other girls there who chose to "purge" through excessive exercise. They were considered just as bulimic as people who chose to make themselves vomit or abuse laxatives.
They would feel guilty after eating and then try and exercise their "mistake" away. They felt horrible, guilty, and just paniced if they weren't able to exercise. It is a real addiction!
Thanks for bringing this up, Sinead!

Augie,
I think it's great that you were able to let go of the anorexia mindset as you said in another post. How exactly did you let go of the guilt about eating thing? Do you ever still feel disgusting after eating? It has bothered me for years even though I haven't really been anorexic for 20 years or so. I find that the eating problems resurface when times are stressful. I think it's great that you have overcome that and are out on your own and making your own way. I never really did that. I know you still have unresolved issues with pain, etc, but think of all that you have accomplished! Well, any thoughts on the guilt issue would be appreciated. Thanks.
