I never knew either unbtil I becamse religious. I decided to ask my Rabbi about it and when I went back to NY for Rosh Hashanah we did it. I was so excited! I really hope it brings me Refuah!!
What are you working on theatrically right now? I didn't realize you work in theater? Do you direct, perform, or what? That's super! it's great to have a job in a creative field :-)

i work on the literary end of things - new play development. i'm assistant literary manager at an off-broadway theatre (www.mcctheater.org) that does new plays and supports a lot of young playwrights. i really love it. i also have a small theatre company (www.temporarytheatre.org) where i'm the artistic director. craziness now, because we just opened a show at work, and my theatre company's show opens in a couple of weeks. but goodness nonetheless.
