Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Nutrisystem Weight Loss Plan?

I'm wary of any diet program that makes you buy the food - and this is particularly expensive. Poking around the internet it looks like this would cost you around $300 a month

Plus, there is NO guarantee that any of that food is IBS safe and my bet would be that it's not.

There's nothing new about Nutrisystem. It's a basic balanced diet, somewhat low in fat (around 20% of calories) and moderate protein (around 20% of calories). They also use the GI index, which has its merits, but could cause you problems in that they probably want you to eat, for example, all whole grain breads and no white bread, which could be a problem for your IBS.

In the end I'd say this is really, really not worth the money. Do a little research on the internet about a healthy diet (http://mypyramid.gov/ is a fabulous and easy to understand site; it also has info about weight loss.) Start *exercising* (I'm also really wary of diet plans that claim that you don't need to exercise to lose weight - of course you do!) If you need support, come and report in here! Or find a support group in your area or a friend or two who are willing to go at this with you.
