wear whatever's most comfortable for you. i wear whatever i'm already wearing. i mean, yeah, there are panty lines. but i'm hardly at my sexiest at the gym, and not trying to pick anyone up. i'll admit that i look around at other people at the gym, but i've never noticed anyone's panties ever. so unless i'm the only one wearing them wrong, i'm sure you're fine, and no one's going to really care.

Wear what is comfy!! I look at others, but never hard enough to notice if they have lines either... and I bet 80% of the people in my classes pick them out at some point in the workout anyways!!..... I know I've been caught a time a twelve LAST WEEK... LOL No really... it's not a big deal.....

i don't end up having to do that, but i realize that i sort of feel myself up as i'm working out. especially as i'm stretching. it helps me be aware of my body and what i'm doing to run my hands over my muscles - but sometimes i realize that i'm bent over at the waist, butt in the air, running my hands up and down my legs. doesn't stop me, of course...

I say who cares? Everybody wears underwear of some kind (I hope!). I won't trade in my cotton briefs for anything. Even panty lines. Victoria's secret briefs are awesome BTW!

Ok cool. I work out at a ladies-only gym too so I doubt other women would be checking out my butt!

i am so jealous! i wear the regular bikini, and a while back i bought a few low-rise, in the hopes that they wouldn't show above my jeans when i sit. ugh, they so don't fit me right. i have really high hips, so these always feel like they're falling down, and cut in really unattractively. they've had to become my laundry-day underwear. alas.

For my size, I am REALLY long waisted and my hips are quite high. Result - I have ALWAYS HATED the feeling of things that sit below the waist. I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE Hipsters and low rise stuff! I like the VS high cut brief. Even those, they've tried to cut lower and I don't like it one bit.

You're right about the fact that when I bend over, I need to make sure nothing shows. Low-rise undies paired with low-rise jeans=plumbers butt. ha ha

I wear low-rise pants and underwear because I have such a high waist and short body anything else would look like it came up to my boobs. lol!

Honestly, I never bothered with the whole underwear thing--especially with work-out pants. I say, skip the panties. (And no, I'm not kidding. I'm serious.)

I detest low rise. I wonder if it's because I'm high wasted too!
I haven't been able to buy a new pair of pants in years because I can't find a store that has "at the waist" pants in smaller sizes. I keep hoping this "phase" will die soon....but it keeps on coming back! What happened to normal pants??? Does anyone know where to buy small size, at the waist pants now a days?

Beth, my mom wear at the waist pants and she buys them at woman's stores that are for women of her age (60+). Do you have any of those stores in your city?

I was just going to say... I'm definitely not the person to ask, because I think underwear is evil (thongs especially! ack!!) and I almost never wear the stuff.
So there's TMI for ya! LOL

Augie,
Having the same problem here. I was able to order size 2 petite pants from the JCPenney catalog center.(Dockers for women) They were not exactly what I wanted, but they'll do. They actually come up to the waist, but they have no pockets.

old navy has pants labeled "at waist" and "just below waist" in addition to their usual "two inches below your crotch." so you might find something there.

They OFTEN have a little elastic which is also awesome for me!! The more the better actually. They're in sporty adventure type stores. Also, I just bought a really nice pair of Nygard brand stretch pants with a side zip and an elasticized waist. They feel HEAVENLY! You can likely find Nygard in places like Sears, Macy's etc. I don't think it's a Canadian brand.

I don't know if I could do that...but it sure would solve the binding elastic problem!

This is yucky too! Doesn't it hurt your tummy to have that bounded pressure on you?

Every time I go there, I have no luck finding them. I'll have to ask next time. I'm too impatient to stay in a store long enough to look thoroughly. I hate shopping!

I CANNOT stand anything tight on my stomach and loose elastic is the only way for me to go. Either that or a no waist dress. Geez - really showing my old age now aren't I??? LOL! When I was a teenager, I refused to wear things with elastic waist - but then I had a 26 inch waist too!

I only wear underwear *that* time of the month... any other time, I just don't bother. No panty lines, no binding elastic, nothin'!

Never. Perpetual "commando." Seriously, I'm sure it's been at least 8 years. I don't have to worry about the time of the month thing as it vanished. (I haven't had periods since before my twenties, I'm sure. I forget when they exactly stopped.) Honestly, give it a shot. Freedom!
Kate.
