didn't get to the gym this am - chose 2 extra hours of sleep instead. boo.

1/2 cup apple sauce
1 1/2 graham crackers

oatmeal
2 hardboiled egg whites

fake turkey sandwich w/ reduced fat mayo

cinnamon life w/ lite soy milk

veggie burger w/ avocado, tomato, mushrooms, & sprouts on french bread.

small vodka tonic. *bad* idea - not for calories or ibs, but because it lowered my self-control. without it i wouldn't have eaten:

chocolate (1 lindt truffle, 2 pieces of gelt)

cinnamon life w/ lite soy milk
1/2 cup (ish) tofutti better pecan (maybe this wasn't a good thing to buy - it's not good enough to be satisfying with just a bite or two. i might throw it out.)

probably around 2000. which won't make me *gain* weight - my binges are smaller than they used to be - but, especially with a day where i skipped the gym, this wasn't ideal. lesson learned about alcohol - it's not just the calories in the drink, but the calories i'll mindlessly consumer after.

Well helloooo,

Alright, here goes for today!

Exercise: Went gymming today! Not sure how long I spent there... at least an hour and fifteen minutes, but I think more. Did 12 minutes on the bike, then a bunch of exercises (some on the ball, some on the machines, some free weights) and then 15 minutes on the elliptical. I went with my mom, and she was ready to go.. otherwise, I would have done more cardio probably. I also added in more time for stretching.

Breakfast: Oatmeal/oat bran with 1/2 cup of soy milk and 2 pear halves (canned).

Snack: 3 almonds

Lunch: Kaiser roll, small tin of tuna (59 grams) with 1 Tbsp of Ultra Low Fat mayo.

Snack: 1/2 Peppermint Stick Luna Bar

Dinner: Small peice of steak (less than a serving size for sure, but dunno how much exactly) (This is a big no no for some people!!), sweet potato "fries", mushrooms, about three bites of caesar salad.

Dessert: 3 shortbread cookies

So, not too bad today. Cookies were a mistake, but otherwise I feel okay about it.
My legs are sore from the class I did a while ago, and a little moreso from the gym today but not too bad. I had my first "contrast shower" today, and it was AWFUL! But if it helps, not so bad!

Back to work tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes!

Cheers,
--Steph

After all that gym time, I would NOT feel bad about a few cookies, that's for sure! Excellent job, Stephie! You go girl!

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

1 c. Egg Whites
Baby Spinach
Fresh basil & Chives
Thai Chili Garlic Sauce (I'll call them Retro-Green eggs as I just food processed this divine Laurel inspired creation!)

(A Maria recipe post from the past inspiration that was really really good! I'll call it a Red Velvet Salad. The roasted beets made it safe for me)
Asparagus Bisque
"Red Velvet Salad" (roasted beets & anise/fennel on romaine lettuce)
tossed with POM-BERRY "Wellness Dressing"
fresh basil

Organic Apricot snack

(More) Asparagus Bisque with fresh dill
& then awhile later
Roasted eggplant, zucchini, & portabella mushrooms
on Romaine lettuce
With TUSCAN ITALIAN "Wellness" dressing
a little fresh lemon & balsalmic for extra zing/bite
fresh parsley
& 10 shrimp

That's all for the day. I felt kind of colourful food-wise.
It felt kind of like spring outside so I went for a 25 minute walk just because I felt like seeing the light of day.

Kate.
