Exercise: 35 minutes heavy treadmill. Calories about 1600. Trying to rehydrate. I couldn't drink anything yesterday morning after the D because it made me queasy.
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Alright... I'm back at it and I'm determined... Stephie, you'd better be in here later too!
breakfast: 3 saltines, 1/2 cup homemade granola w/ 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk snack: slice of toast w/ 1 tsp peanut butter lunch: lemon-basil tuna pocket, orange snack: banana snack: 4 junior mints dinner: turkey meatloaf, 1/2 cup mashed potatoes, 1/2 cup peas dessert: 3 mint meringues
other: it's a LOT of calories, but I refuse to give up my daily pot of Teeccino, for now anyway.
workout: 40min Tae-Bo
I'm not counting calories - too much stress - I'm trying to concentrate on learning what portion sizes are.
I feel good about what I did today. I only really got hungry once, and Tae-Bo completely rocks. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

Hi sweetie... it is nice to be missed I'm gonna try really hard to FIND the time to report in. Yes, today WAS a lot of exercise, but I was off today from work and started with Heather at the new location (6pm will be my normal time with her on Mons & Thurs) so I will not be doing kickboxing on Mondays anymore...and will do like 30 mins cardio after my workout. I'm all showered up...so I'll take that hug!! hehehe

Hee hee Casey, thanks for reminding me!
Exercise: Not much today. I did some walking, but that's about it! I'll do more tomorrow, I worked 'til midnight the night before and worked late tonight so I was kinda screwed up.
Breakfast: Oatmeal/oat bran (3 Tbsps Oatmeal, 1 Tbsp Oat Bran) with 1/2 cup of plain soy milk and 1/2 cup of frozen fruit, thawed.
Snack: Cup of Rooibos tea with some vanilla soy milk
Snack: 1 cup of unsweetened applesauce, peach/mango flavour and some roasted almonds and raisins (I think about 1/2 cup in total of the nuts and raisins).
Lunch: 4 potato and onion perogies with 1 tsp of "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter". 1 small can of peaches, juices drained.
Snack: Almond granola bar
Dinner: Sushi - Rice with some teriaky sauce and about two bites of beef. 3 pieces of avocado roll and 2 peices of "kasuga roll" (veggies).
Desert: 2 pieces of "pot of gold" chocolate. 1 can of Gingerale, plus 1/2 cup of UFO. Not so good, but not too too bad.
See ya'll tomorrow!
Cheers, --Steph

A workout system put together by this guy that combines martial arts and boxing. It is *hard*... not difficult-hard, but make-you-sweat-like-crazy-hard. Definitely not gentle exercise - and I think that's why I like it!
I managed to find the tapes (I got 4 of them) at the thrift store for .25 apiece... talk about a find!

Anyway, good job!

I will keep my eyes peeled. It might take me a little while to find more copies, but I'll see what I can find!
There are parts that wouldn't be good for bad knees - specifically, there's some footwork that involves high-impact jumping around. *BUT*... most of the workout focuses on *controlled* punches and kicks, to work the muscles without straining joints, so you could probably skip the footwork and just do that.
Tell ya what... it makes you feel powerful while you're doing it, like someone would have to be an idiot to mess with you! It's fun.

It sounds fun AND like it would be good for a woman who has been abused......anything that makes you feel more powerful/confident sounds GREAT! In fact...my therapist might even say that this would be a great alternative to taking self defense classes (would you agree?)
Thanks Casey!!! I'm glad you mentioned this

I sure missed your kick-a$$ motivational attitude! (I was a wee bit concerned after seeing some of your holiday temptations on the recipe board, I confess).
It's so funny, but since I lost the smoking habit, my body is getting more oxygen to motivate me to move my butt more.
Anyways, best wishes for the new year. I strongly suspect that you will be hitting your goal.
Kate.

Some of the testimonials on the boxes focus on the self-defense aspect of it. I think a lot of that has to do with how it boosts your strength and confidence rather than actual self-defense techniques, so it depends on what you're looking to accomplish. But either way, from the abused standpoint, I think it'll help you like it's helping me. I know I'm carrying myself differently after only 2 days doing it.

Food really tastes so much better after more than a month off cigarettes! My poos are finally solidifying again. (I cannot tell you how long it has been. Yes, there are still lots of them, but, well...I'm a vegetarian!)
Exercise: Does mall walking/strolling for 2.5 hours count? I'm lazy, but I am starting to enjoy just walking around the mall. Plus, it helps with my anxiety disorder!!!
What I ate:
Puffed quinoa
Spaghetti Squash tossed with lots of fresh parsley & basil ***AWESOME stuff*** Spinach herb puree
Dulse rice cakes steamed carrots
2 bowls of homemade Asparagus bisque with dill & chives Small steamed potatoe topped with chives Portabella mushrooms
more steamed carrots (craving orange food, lately) Dulse rice cakes
Note to self: I think my appetite is better without smoking. Have been eating more veggies & organic fruit things if I get the munchies. Rice cakes, too, for that crunchy effect. Have this urge to see if organic broccoli agrees with me. Also, I'm an underweight & really anemic, so...a couple pounds would help me!!! But, it is nice to have a better appetite.
Kate.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>I am ready to post my report for today (January 3rd) too! Looks like we all have made New Year's resolutions to get back in shape/on track etc
I have gained 6 lbs (at least!) since I got back from honeymoon in November (gained zero on honeymoon!) so feel really blobby and unfit so I am taking action. Feel hungry though but my tummy is probably so used to being overstuffed that it's not sure what to do with all the air space inside! (note my lack of scientific knowledge in writing this but you know what I mean!)
I AM DETERMINED not to "let myself go" (!) now that I am married and blissed out! Watch this space.
