In response to the new research posted about exercise relieving IBS sypmptoms I was wondering if my job was enough to qualify me as "active". I am a nurse on my feet 12+ hours per day, this is the most exercise I get on an average week. Is this enough? Should I be doing aerobics? I suffer from bloating and gas.

I would say that it's good that you're on your feet and moving every day. However, the benefits of aerobic activity are great and should always be encouraged. Try taking a light stroll for 15 minutes twice a week after supper or your shift or on your day off or something. I know it's exhausting to think after 12 + hours you should exercise - you're tired and all, but I found that exercise will help you be more alert and less tired. It would be a start. Though, I'm not an expert. But I have found that a 10 minute walk after meals can help my digestion immensely.
