Ha ha--Cheerios! I had to go cold turkey, otherwise that's all I'd be eating. I'm not joking. Before starting the IBS diet I was eating three or four bowls of Cheerios a day. No wonder I was so hungry and grouchy!

The broccoli is going pretty good. Lately, I've been adding about 1/4 cup of frozen florets to the boiling water I use to prepare the Thai Kitchen noodle soups. Tasty! I understand the stinky foods cravings. Sometimes I want some cabbage soup with vinegar.

I was reading an article in one of my mom's health magazines the other day, and it had a list of some "wonder foods" or something. It had stuff like walnuts, fish, and cherries were on there!
I was surprised, it said that most people never eat cherries but they shouldn't be ignored!
I can't even remember the last time I ate a cherry...
Just wanted to share!

You're kidding? It said that most people don't eat cherries?
Wow! They don't know what they're missing! (Note: they do have a laxative effect, so be careful. They're also so sweet and plump and juicy that it's hard to eat just 4!)

I don't know what is safer...a cherry or blueberry or blackberry binge or a broccoli fix or ice cream and pizza, peanutbutter and chocolate and beer! For me, cherry or blueberry, blackberry or broccoli. I think, I'll try and sneak in a minute quantity of something HOT so I don't feel deprived. It's bizzare craving these things that are supposed to be good for you but can be triggers. So, I'll take baby steps and fit in little bits and bites of that stinky broccoli or a few brussels sprouts, maybe some creamy lowcarb cauliflower and LOTS OF CARROT. (I made "babyfood" basil broccomoli today, but haven't touched it. I also made some whipped creamy cauliflower. If it freaks me out too much to consume it, I HAVE ONLY TOO MANY PEOPLE WHO WILL GOBBLE IT UP.)

Reflection on day after the brussels sprouts:

A little explosive, i.e. MORE BM's. The explosiveness passed really quickly, so it didn't interfere with anything. More energy, too. More laughter. Maybe I'm craving these things because I need more sulfur? Carrots taste better with the bitter and the sulfurous and the pungent and the astringent. I guess, I'm just looking for more things to put salt on!

Kate.
