Okay, as I've been having a hard time with the Fibro lately, I've been drinking Lucozade Original to keep going. If you guys don't have that, it's a (normally) fizzy glucose drink with caffeine. Yes, big UFO...but it's kinda medicine for me.
Anyway, since I've been doing that, I haven't been getting noticeably dehydrated so much (usually a big summer problem for me) but I was wondering if this was coincidence as it contains caffeine. Do I count this towards my water intake or not????
It's screwing my sleep even more and making my tum gurgly, but I'm getting through the days awake and enjoying myself and feeling refreshed which makes a nice change. I'm gonna stop taking it when Si's stopped needing my help with work all evening long.

I read lately that tea and coffee count toward your water intake because even though they have a mild diuretic effect, you are still taking in more water than you are losing. I imagine your crazy drink is probably similar. But, um, you should probably not drink that stuff anymore for the 1000 other reasons you mentioned!
pssst don't tell anyone, but I drink caffeinated tea every day!

Yep, there's a formula. I think you can count like, 80% of the drink, but you lose 20% for the aforementioned diuretic effect.

So maybe the extra....800ml of countable fluids with glucose is what's stopping me from getting so dehydrated.
And yup, I will cut it out asap. It's just atm I'm recovering from a flare and Simon is needing me to do navigation and trigonometry until late at night! If it wasn't for this drink, I'd never make it out of the house.
