I workout at home. Lately I have been thinking about getting the most out of what I do and thought it would be great if I could have someone show me what is best to do with my own equipment. Do you think someone would be willing to come to my house once to help me on my own stuff and if so how much do you think it would cost? I could ask a personal trainer or my chiro as he was in sports therapy before, but I want to know if it is even feasible. (sorry this is worded so badly- I am tired from exercise.)

You know that I would do? Do you have a 24 hour fitness near you? If so, go and get a 7-10 free pass.... you will have to do the little tour thing and listen to the sales pitch, but then just tell them you don't know if you want to "join" until after you've spent some time there... THEN durring your free pass....get the trainers there.... to show you how to work machines like the ones you have at home. (what kinds do you have by the way?)... then when your pass is up... just don't go back...unless you want to that is.

I personally pay approx $50 for an hour session with my trainer....but she is a little higher priced them some of the others at the same gym... more training and certifications the more you make!

I also have a link to great website that someone posted before......I'll look for it.... it shows how to do all kinds of exercises using machines...

Now that I am thinking about it maybe I could do it at the gym and not at my home as long as they have what I have. I am primarily concerned with using my exercise ball and doing my weight training correctly for my body and my previous injuries. I wasn't going to worry about the aerobic stuff- I can do that just fine. We have a treadmill, bike, weight bench for me with a bench press and a leg lift thing which I do upright for front thighs and on my back for back thighs. I do a lot of free weights and exercise ball stuff but want exercises that are right for me and my goal areas. I have a new book on exercise balls. I guess I just need some souping up. I will check out the trainers around here. Thanks for the info!!!

Wow! 50 dollars for a trainer is low compared to what the average rate for a PT is here in MA--the "lower end" trainers without much certifications run around $60/hour and, on average, most charge between $65-80/hour! Crazy!
