Abdominal Cramping After Workout

I often experience moderate-severe stomach cramping after doing an abdominal workout... Particularly, after working the lower abdomen. I'm always careful not to eat a couple hours before doing a workout, so I don't understand what is causing the cramping. I do have IBS, but don't know if/how that would be causing it?? Does anyone have any idea what this might be from, and how to help prevent it?

By any chance during your workout... are you breathing really heavy and taking in a lot of air? I have to really concentrate on the WAY I breath....to prevent that from happening to me too.

Hi, I don't noticeably take in a lot of air, esp. when I'm doing toning exercises. I try to concentrate on my breathing, out during the hard part of the exercise (up on a crunch) and in on the easier part (down). I guess it's possible that I'm breathing in too deep and taking in too much air coming down. I never really thought about that before. I'll remember to watch my breathing more carefully next time.
