This is kind of an involved snack but I keep oatmeal packets at work. It fills me up and I don't feel like I'm eating junk. (I get the low sugar kind). Applesauce is a great snack! Actually, I eat it all day long...

It would probably keep 2 weeks+ in the fridge after you open it... mine never stays that long, I eat it way too fast I've never tried freezing it but I imagine it would be ok...??

Blech, I hate the sweetened stuff, I only buy unsweetened. Apples are so sweet as it is!

If you can't find any unsweetened, it's pretty easy to make yourself, especially if you do it in large batches and then just keep it in a jar in the fridge. Just take a bunch of apples, peel and thinly slice them, and put them in the microwave for about 1-1.5 mins per apple on high (check and stir them a few times, you just want them in there until they're cooked and you don't want them to burn. It's best to put them on a plate so they're almost in one layer, so you sometimes have to do more than one batch here). When they're done, mash them up with a fork, potato masher, or on a low speed in the blender. You can also cook the apples a saucepan on the stove over med-low heat, just be sure to add a little apple juice or water and stir often so they don't burn.
