I really think this diet has helped me and am just looking for a way to make it work for me weight wise.
Sorry if I upset anyone. I would just like to follow someone who is weighing about the same as me and has the same goal as me. Like I said earlier -- 20 pt. WW and I think that would equal 1200 or 1300 calories.
Following this diet I am at 10 pts. by lunchtime. For example:
Breakfast: Oatmeal - 2 pts. Some blueberries and 1 tsp. brown sugar - 1 pt.
Lunch: French roll - 4 pts. 2 oz. chicken - 2 pt. 1 oz. baked potato chips - 2 pt.
That 11 pts. with NO snacks by lunchtime. Ouch!!!!
Ok, so I do WW bread instead of the french roll, Subtract that 4 pt. and add 1. That's a little better.
I'm just finding it hard to do. So many carbs.....and still feeling hungry. Cindy

I have never done WW so I have no clue about the points. But I can just say that I would be hungry too after 1 roll and 2 OZ chicken and 1oz chips! most definitely! Try adding vegetables that have low points. Do cooked carrots have low points? I eat them as a nice big snack and they are so low cal. How about a banana instead of a roll? How about cream of rice or wheat instead of oatmeal? That saves calories. Light soymilk saves calories too. How about trying to cut the cal/points a little slower since you have so little to lose? 3500 calories a week is a pound a week but maybe try to just cut half a pound a week. Also fennel is an appetite suppressant and drinking it BEFORE eating is a good trick. Cooked carrots, parsnips and the like are a good first start for dinner too that are lower in cals than bread, pasta or rice. When I am being good I exchange light choc soy milk for soy ice cream or sorbet. A few glugs gets rid of the sweet tooth. I totally empathize though since I have been hungry a lot lately and was just hoping it would go away with the cold weather. Good luck.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I think I'm going to have to center my dinners around a piece of meat, 1/2 cup rice and veggies. And then for a snack after dinner, keep it to something light. Like maybe try to be satisfied with a couple of graham crackers. I know WHAT to do, it's just that I feel like I'm not really eating much at all and so hungry.
Maybe I'll try posting my menus too for feedback.

Hi Cindy!
My major suggestion is veggie soup. Cooked veggies are totally fine for us with IBS and the soup is 0 points!

I'm with you girl! I'm currently on weight watchers and it is HARD. From the IBS diet we're supposed to be getting lots of soluble fibre foods but much of those are worth 4 points each! By the time I get enough soluble fibre, my points are used up. My saving grace has been Weight Watchers white bread. I make 2 point turkey sandwiches with mustard, ffmayo, lettuce and ffturkey. They really help ease the hunger.

...0 points and you can make it IBS safe. That and 1 slice of bread is a great lunch.

Sometimes I eat it for lunch with 1/2 cup of rice. But one or even two slices of the WW bread with it would probably fill me up more. Their bread is only 1 pt. for two slices and it's not bad!!

the soluble fiber using up all my pts.!!! Thank goodness for the WW bread; it really is a lifesaver. I'm doing better today and will post my menu too. I'm going to try to have more variety, just not big quantities. Although a Luna Bar at 4 pts. for a snack just kills me. And who can eat just half?!?!

I am gluten intolerant-celiac disease- and can't do the WW bread. If anyone knows of any low point alternatives that are gluten free I would love it if you could share. I have been changing exercise routines-weight, eliptical, running inside or out, and other types of machines at the gym. I get bored so I change every other time-I have a nordick track at home and a treadmill.
I think the gluten free thing added to IBS is the killer. Gluten free products are usually high in points to begin with. Anybody out there gluten intolerant too? that is how I got to be 5lbs over goal weight to begin with. I had to switch to all Gluten free-no low fat stuff-it all has fillers which are gluten based. 1 gluten free cookie is 100 calories, a piece of bread is over 100 calories. I stay away from breads-I eat sweet potatoes, rice, rice pasta, and indulge every now and then in a gluten free bagel or cookie.
Thanks,
Mary
