Is couscous safe? It doesn't bother me, but I was just wondering. On the soluble fiber list, it list rice, does that mean white and brown?. I could sware I read somewhere that both a fine, a freind today told me white rice isn't safe.Neither bother me, (not even fried rice which I know is bad).

Couscous is just a pasta so it's fine.
White rice is definitely fine... brown is a bit more questionable because it has the insoluble fiber but if you're stable you may be able to add small amounts of it and be okay.

Couscous used to bother me. I was buying the kind in the health food section but it had a a flavor packet (those are usually killers, any combination of spices in a packet). I cooked the couscous this last week & left the spice packet out but added some soy butter & some basil & I ate it with no problem. Yeah, I have another food I can eat.

I just had some couscous for dinner tonight!! Try making it with low fat or fat free chicken broth. Makes it very tasty.
