I have been using Heather's Acacia fiber for 3 days. Every time I take it, I notice an irritability in my throat. Last night, I had to use my inhaler's afterward. Could this be an allergy to Acacia? Will this go away after continued use? Please advise. Thanks.

I haven't noticed this with acacia, but I had a similar reaction with Citrucel. The inside of my mouth would get itchy. I found that simply rinsing out my mouth after finishing the Citrucel helped.

Christine, Thanks for the info. I will try the acacia again and try rinsing afterwards. Sorry I did not reply earlier, but I am still trying to figure out how this board works. Debra

No worries!
I have also started to get the occasional mouth itch from the acacia. My theory is that it's either from the cranberry juice I drink it in (unlikely) or from a residue that gets left behind in my mouth. Rinsing washes the residue down.
Good luck!
