I posted this yesterday and wasn't sure if you had seen it yet:
Does your tongue look "hairy" or just have white spots? If just white spots, do the white spots feel like "blisters"? Can you scrape off the blisters and if so do they bleed? Are you running a fever??

Hey Becky,
No it doesn't look hairy.
I actually went to the dentist as well as my own GP yesterday, and they both said it was from my acid reflux ... very strange.
My gp told my to increase my prevacid from 1 a day to 2 day. He suggested rinsing with water and salt, and buying a tongue scraper.

Oh good. I'm glad you were able to get some kind of answer. I'm a Dental Assistant, and when I saw your post, I looked it up in one of my books. Acid reflux isn't something that's mentioned, but then again this is a dental book, not a medical book. Hope it gets better for you soon.
