I thought it was the soy beans I ate night before last but the cramps continued throughout the day and I am still cramping this morning. Keep in mind that I don't eat a whole lot, I have never been a big eater and I am wise about the food I eat.
I have been following the "rules" for some time now and have done very well barring feeling way too full all of the time. As a "C", I am more comfortable when my stomach is empty as opposed to full. Where I haven't gained any weight, the feeling of fullness was always there and I was uncomfortable.
This part is gross...on the diet I was regular as could be which was rather nice. I didn't eat at all yesterday, I just couldn't I was so miserable. I had a BM today and the amount that came from within me was almost scary. I am beginning to think that my colon is freaking out from having too much in it.
My GI told me about my intestinal tract and that it has a "sequencer" in it. The sequencer is what pushes the poop out. My sequencer is having a seizure right now because there is too much in there! How to create the perfect balance?
Ugh....thank you for listening to me whine.

Yeah, the aftermath of a C attack ain't pretty!
I've found that the best thing to do is not to stress too much about it. When you can, have tiny little meals. Keep drinking your fluids, too. Get some insoluble fiber when you can, but trust your body if it tells you to wait a day or two. Exercise does help a lot, too - I'm a big fan of long walks followed by some yoga stretches and twists.
There's a lot of us who know exactly how you feel. The good thing is that the feeling always passes!

Rachel, have you been taking in any insolubles? Veggies? What about fruit?
I'm not a C -- never have been -- so I can't be much help in that department, but I have a few suggestions that should help:
1. Blueberries! Yep, blueberries. I love these things, I can never get enough (especially wild Maine blueberries). However, they give me the runs -- BIG TIME! And I certainly don't need any encouragement in that department. I eat them because I love them so much, but I have to be extra cautious and eat them very sparingly.
2. Broccoli does the same thing for me, but it also causes me to cramp something terrible, so I avoid it like the plague. If it doesn't cramp you up, give it a try; it should make you go -- but be sure to have a soluble fiber first, and also make sure the broccoli is cut up and cooked 'till well done.
3. Last, I have to comment on not eating for an entire day. It's not a good idea. I really can't go 12 hours without eating, or it will definitely trigger an attack. I have a problem in the mornings because I'm never hungry, and if I'm not hungry I don't wanna eat. Makes sense, right? Well, I discovered that I'll definitely have an attack if I don't force down at least a little piece of toast with my morning SoyFee. Can you tolerate whole wheat? I'm one of the lucky few who can, so my toast is always whole wheat -- also good to help with that pooping!
Whine all you want, Rachel. That's what we all do here. And we're good at it, too!

thanks for your concern. For whatever reason post "C attack" I have NO problems going whatsoever...it is as if my colon goes on overdrive trying to empty itself!
I am good except for the cramping...I just got home from a meeting so I will be brewing my peppermint tea in a few minutes.
Thanks everyone

Hi, I haven't been around for a little while so I'm not sure if we have "met" yet! I am also a "c" person. I know when I go too long without going my colon goes into overdrive. My colon is finally like "ok, this stuff has been in here way too long, everything out NOW! And everything incoming is not staying in for very long!"
It usually takes a couple days to get "evened" out again. I find my tummy is very sore and bloated after this happens. You would think the bloating would go down after getting everything out but it usually takes a while!
I find it best, during these bad times, to try to balance very carefully my soluble and insoluble fiber. Too much soluble without enough insoluble and I'm stopped up again. Too much insoluble without enough soluble and I can't get to far from the potty!
If your tummy is really sore, use the heating pad. Its my best friend in times like these! Keep up the water intake also. Its really not good for your colon, to go so long without eating a little something. Even a few graham crakers or a handful or dry cereal, just keep something in there so it doesn't cramp down on itself.
Hope you're feeling better soon!

You described it to a "T"...what a pain in the behind (no pun intended!). Oh to be normal....people w/out IBS have no idea how blessed they are!
Thanks for your support....nice to meet you!
