Hi! I eat pretty much the same old same old food. Believe it or not Pizza is a good one for me. It NEVER gives me my IBS. Go figure with the sauce and all...... I eat turkey hoagies from WaWa alot. Yes, lots of pasta and breads. Everyone's different and I'm sure when you get the book it will help you alot. I haven't read the book but I'm sure it would be beneficial to me. I've always been one of those chickens though to try new things for fear I will have an attack so I basically stick to the same stuff. Go out of my boundries once and a while......After having it for 15 years I learned what I can have and what I can't.
I noticed you were a dental hygiene student. My sister is a hygenist. BIG BUCKS! She works like 3 days a week and makes the same amount of money I do for 40 hrs. Worth every bit of your time to become one though. She tried working and going to school and it was just too hard so she just strictly went to school, graduated in 2 years and started working right away.
Good luck....watch out for that carpal tunnel though

That is a really good question for all of us. Here is an average work day diet for me. breakfast: 2 bowls of cheerios with soy milk all day snacking lunch: 2-3 bananas (not green) 3/4 # baby carrots luna bar or a home-baked low fat muffin or bread or something pretzels dried papaya or an insoluble fruit (not honeydew anymore) after something else 3:00 snack varies a lot- toast, something I baked, leftovers, microwaved sweet potato, smoothie etc dinner- most of the time oriental with lots of rice and some veggies-- or just anything allowed; I like to cook. then tea for sure-I drink a mix of peppermint, ginger and fennel snack- sorbet or choc. soy milk usually
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Haven't experimented with soy yet. I really should sometime.
BTW did you know that the Giants are hated more than the Redskins!(That's what I'm told at least. I don't hate them) I'm a Redskins fan myself.........living in the Philadelphia area, however, it doesn't go over very well

I'm still kind of experimenting myself, but here's what I've found.
Breakfasts - Honeycomb cereal dry, rice cereal hot & sweetened with sugar, IBS-safe quick breads and muffins (see the recipe sections... my favorites so far are banana bread and chocolate-applesauce bread).
Lunches - I'm not a lunch person, I tend to snack more than anything. Most days I eat hummus on crackers or pita bread, or a little cup of homemade chicken-rice soup. Sometimes I actually feel like eating, and I get sliced deli meat (turkey breast is good... "buffalo" chicken breast is even better!) and have that on pita with spicy mustard.
Dinners - Grilled chicken breasts, baked fish, baked turkey ham, turkey meatloaf. Rice or potatoes, pasta occasionally. Carrots, peas, spinach, zucchini, mushrooms... but carrots especially. I eat lots of carrots.
Snacks are harder. I find myself munching on saltine crackers or dry cereal a lot of the time, just because I can't figure out what else to nibble on.

Oh I totally agree! I'm surrounded by those stinkin fans! I hold my own though! Never jump on the banwagon when the ALMOST get to the superbowl EVERY year. KEY word....ALMOST. At least my Redskins were in the superbowl in 1995. I use that frequently to my surrounding Eagle's fans!
