In describing her situation, Christine describes me pretty well too. In my youth (tee-hee) I was plagued by awful diarrhea; now it's mostly C and bloating with just the occasional episode of D, mostly around period time. (I know, ladies, you're shocked) The toughest times are when I have to travel with my students, which happens several times a year; our music department is very big and active, and we take kids to various contests and festivals pretty often. Seems like all I have to do is look at a bus and I get constipated. I am just a recent discoverer of Heather's IBS diet and other guidelines, and lemme tell ya, I'm pretty thrilled. It may not seem like much to some to be able to wear your size ten pants, tuck in, and put a belt on, but I'm sure you know what a relief it is to me. Thanks all for the nice welcome.

I just wanted to say thanks to both of you for all your advice! It is wonderful advice to talk to the school about the planning period after lunch! I never thought about the traveling aspect though...lots of field trips in elementary schools...but I have 1 1/2 years to hopefully get all this under control!

Thanks again for the advice!
Take Care,
Amanda

Laura Sue is so very right on this one.

But even when I'm stable I can't hack brown rice, so I stick to plain white..
