I was just put on Zelnorm a week ago. However, many of my symptoms are still present. The most bothersome is constantly burping and bloating after anything that I eat. Does anyone have any ideas to ease this, and what should my diet mainly consist of? I am a runner and weight lifter, and right now I am struggling to even maintain myself. Thanks for any advice.

Hello! I just wanted to say Hi and Welcome to the boards. Have you had a good look around the site yet? You should be able to find tons of diet information here. A lot of people really swear by Heather's diet, so you could give it a go and see how it works for you. The other thing is a fiber supplement, are you on one? I forget all of them, but most of the people here know more than I do so they'll be able to help you out with that. Or there should be a list somewhere... I am IBS-D so I don't know a lot about meds for C, but there are tons of people here who do. Good luck navigating around the site, I hope you find some good information! --Steph

The Acacia - and I started with 3 tsp x day spread into one tsp before each meal - peppermint caps and peppermint tea made it possible to come off all meds for my C! The Acacia is something that made an immediate and blessed change, and I'll never be without it! Hope something works for you! Don't get discouraged. Things will improve!

Hi!
I'm a C too - these are the things that have helped me: - drinking tons of water (you probably do that already since you're an athlete! ) - taking a fiber supplement (I take Acacia) - keeping a food diary so I can see what may be helping / making me worse - eating lots of soluble fiber like white rice, bananas, white bread, oat bran cereal (even though it felt counter-intuitive initially!) and the other diet changes that Heather suggests - trying to manage my stress - drinking lots of peppermint and fennel tea - taking peppermint caps on occasion
Hope that helps!
Ana
