I always have peppermint gum with me. It always helps with tummy upset and sometimes tummy pain. Just a thought, it is great to have in a pinch. gayla

Is this okay? I used to love peppermint gum, but I thought Heather said not to chew gum because it increases the amount of air you swallow or something like that. I sure would like to add gum to my Altoid repertoire if that's not the case! Jenn

Heather said if you have a problem with gas to be careful about gum. But I'm sure an occasional piece for medicinals purposes would be fine. Just keep an eye out for gas after it and if it seems to be a problem, switch to peppermint candy. Just one opinion.

Be careful of sorbitol in gums as well. I used to chew Icebreakers gum all the time for tummy troubles, and then one day I looked at the ingredients. A lot of gums have sorbitol as an ingredient, so be careful!
