I take a complex supplement that has fish, flax and CLA in it. Nothing but benefits. I haven't noticed any gross fishy burping.

Hey - if they're good for nails maybe they're good for hair too! I could use thicker hair!

It's good for your skin too. I have bumpy skin on my upper arms and legs (keratosis pilaris, to be technical). The more fish oil I get in my diet, the smoother my skin gets! It's not so dramatic and wonderful that I'd take it if I was burping fishiness all day, but it is nice.

Also, my doctor was happy I was taking the capsules because they're good for the heart.

I have that skin problem too! When I take flaxseed oil, it doesn't help it, but it does make my skin feel very soft AND gets rid of my zits I used to take a tablespoon of the oil everyday, but I haven't in so long...I think I should just get the pills, I think I'd be more likely to actually take them. How many pills do you guys take a day?

I take the omega 3 complex with fish oil, borage and flax and it helps me go to the bathroom..I am IBS-C. I used to take fish oil and it had the same effect on me. But if you are IBS-D, I am not sure that would be a good thing. Good luck! I recently tried evening primrose oil (for PMS and IBS related PMS) and it upset my stomach with gas really bad. I am sticking with the omega 3.

I'm also a C. I had thought that the fat in the oil would be a "no no" but it sounds like it certainly works for you! Do you know what it actually does in your body to help creat a BM? Are you also taking a fibre supplement?

Thanks!

How many do I take in a day? I try to take 6, but it's usually more like 4. There are 1,000 mg. in each. According to Dr. Dean Ornish, 6,000 mg./day is very beneficial to reduce cholesterol, and that's my aim.

I buy Flora Flax-O-Mega at the health food store, 1 jar of 180 capsules = $14.25. web page

As for the skin, I've never had a zit, ever. It's all because of my genetic problem -- but that's another story. Softer skin? Maybe. But to me, the capsules are the only way to go. To drink the stuff, BLEAACCCH!

lol yes I agree, the oil straight up so totally disgusting! I would just hold my nose and take it, and immediatly drink something sweet. But seems like it would just be easier to take the pills. One thing that bothers me...they say you should refridgorate the oil, so shouldn't you have to do the same with the pills? If so, why are all the flaxseed oil pills at the store not in the fridge?
