I don't know what I ate but had an intense attack this weekend. The worst bloating and pain I have ever had. I have been doing pretty well on the diet as far as pain, still not have a bm though, so am stumped..this is what I ate this weekend. Friday, cream of rice cereal, soy milk, sourdough bread, grilled chicken sandwich, Applebee's for dinner and I ordered grilled shrimp and rice which had some small cut up vegiesin it(I think this may have been the culprit??)Saturday, rice, applesauce, chicken, baked(from Walmart). I baked the angel food cake with a can of pinneaple added and had 2 pieces, noodles in chicken broth, fat free potato chips. Any help would be appreciated. My stomach is still sore today, especially on the right side but the bloating is gone.

Sorry you had an attack Stick with it, things will improve! Your diet looks pretty good except you don't have much insoluble fiber at all. If you are prone to C and you mentioned your still not having BMs, you need to add in more insoluble fiber.

Insoluble fiber is important for good health, it just needs to be eaten carefully. Try adding some steamed veggies, or blend up some fruit in a smoothie. Are you taking a fiber supplement and drinking lots of water??

Gee, everything you listed sounds fine; I don't think it could be any of that. Even the veggies seem okay since you had rice with them. I'm wondering what you had Thursday or if there's something else going on. What are you doing about a soluble fiber supplement? What kind? How much? When did to begin increasing the dosage? Too much too soon, perhaps? Not enough?

Any stress going on right now? No exercise? Not drinking all your water?

I just don't think it's anything you listed. I'd look elsewhere.

Hope you're better soon.

Bev

Sherbelle, I'm sorry you've been feeling so terrible! I have a couple of questions. You said you haven't had a BM. Do you mind my asking how long it's been? Because when I was alternating I would often have attacks just because it had been too long since my last BM... no other noticable reason. Also, you said you had FF potato chips... were they baked, or were they those WOW brand chips? Because those contain a butter sub that's NOT good for IBS... and has even been known to cause problems for people without it! Just checking. I hope you get things figured out and start feeling better soon.

Did you say you got the baked chicken from Walmart?? I don't know if you were talking about those already cooked and ready to take home chickens are not, but sometimes you have to be careful about those from the grocery store, most of them have dairy or other ingredients in them when they are cooked that could cause an attack. Check the labels and watch out for the whey, caesin, butter, etc.

Were the fat free potato chips made with some kind of fake fat? Cause I think that even baked chips which are the kinds that most of us don't have issues with have a little fat in them but not artificial fat. Artificial fat(well..artificial anything..lol) causes issues. Also..do you know how much oil was in the baked chicken. I mean..a chiken that YOU bake..you know what you put on it. But a premade one..they can inject all sorts of artificial flavorings and oil and crud in there. Baked may sound innocent but you don't know HOW they baked it. I went to this restaurant where they interepreted grilled as fried. Just a thought. Try a heating pad and drink a bunch of hot tea for now. HOpe you feel better! SOrry you are miserable. Also, check the labels on everything you've been eating that you think is safe. I have found problems this way! Good luck!!!!!
