Hello there, In a bid to gain weight I was advised to eat Scottish Oatcakes. They contain oatmeal, fat (some palm oil some veg oil, some olive oil at 21.3g per 100g and about 2g per biscuit), salt and some contain wheatflour and a bit of sugar. SO far, they seem to be going down ok and the weight does seem to be going on. Does anyone else use them? Also, I found some supplements which contain oatbran as well as fructose, stearic acid, carob, silica, honey and magnesium stearate. Anything in there that could set me back do you reckon? Just one more quick query...I have tried to search it on the board with no luck..how do you work out the safe percentage of fat in a product. For example, if there are 457kcal per 100g and 21g of fat how much percent of fat is there? Sorry for the maths puzzle but I jsut wanted to make sure that I wasn't over-doing my fat intake in a bid to gain pounds.
Thanks, Claire

Claire, Hi, how are you!
I'm too fibro fogged at the moment to do the math puzzle for you, but the ingredients you listed seem fine. Glad to hear you found something that goes down okay and helps you regain the weight you need.
Can somebody else do the fat math for Claire???

Thanks for the reply..I understand about not being able to get your head round the maths. I'm sure if I sat down and really tried to work it out I could but there isn't much time to sit down when you've got a 2 year old!! I'd be grateful for any maths buffs out there to help me out though.....
