Sometime last week there was a post asking about fast food that was okay for IBS.

I finally got around to trying out the Taco Bell Soft Chicken Taco (Fresco style). It was white chicken with a small amount of shredded lettuce and salsa on a flour tortilla. It was only 4 grams of fat and I did not have any problems with it at all.

It's not something I would probably eat all the time but it's nice to know of a fast food place where I can eat something safely.

Hope this helps others,
Leigh

Oooh I love their fresco style. It's very refreshing to be able to order something and not have to recite your long list of stuff to leave off!

Oh Leigh.... now I'm gonna have to go try it.... darn it... I'm trying to stay away from fast food.... but this would be great for lunch every once in awhile (IF I like it) cuz there is a Taco Bell a few blocks from my office

Maybe I'll try it on the 5th for Cinco de Mayo!?!!??

So what exactly does "fresco style" mean?

Didn't know you could get a bean taco there. Thanks. Was it whole beans or the refried beans made with gosh-knows-what besides beans?

Here's their Nutrition Guide and it explains all about Fresco Style.

They also have the Taco Bell Nutrition Calculator where you can build a meal to find out all the info.

As far as I know-the only thing they've ever used is refried beans which may contain lard. Not sure how that could be easy to digest (scratching my head).
