I've heard lots of people on here say lots of good things about Equalactin and I'm really interested in getting some.

I do have one question though...

I know it's for D and C but how would I take it if I'm C...

Cuz I've heard you guys talking about taking it before a meal that doesn't have much soluble fibre...or before you do something stressful, etc. But if I'm not D (and therefore wouldn't get a D attack resulting from the above events) would it just make me more C?

I'm a little confused....sorry if this is repetitive!!

Kimm, I SWEAR I was JUST thinking of posting the same thing!! I was just wondering about the Equalactin and how it would affect a C person, because that's what I am, too. Yeah, I mean, would it make us MORE C?? It seems to help the D people NOT become D before they eat something bad. But since we don't have that problem, what would it do? Just help our stomaches feel better?

(reading from the the box) equalactin binds the water to the hard, dry stool, creating softer stools that are easier to pass.

Equalactin is the same as fibercon! Its just another soluble fiber supplement. We all know certain ones work better for certain people but I believe these 2 have the same active ingredient. It helps us C people the same as another other fiber supplement. You have to take a LOT more of the pills to get the same amount os soluble fiber as you do with the powders, so I switched from Fibercon to Acacia. But I have a bottle of fibercon with me where ever I go. Does that help?? I'm sure Bevrs will be able to answer more clearly!

Sorry, but I JUST saw your post.

Michele is right. Equalactin is just like Fibercon or Citrucel; it's a soluble fiber supplement. You don't want to take it as you would the powder because it's MUCH more expensive and you'd have to take too much of it to equal the amount of fiber in the powder.

HOWEVER, it just calms down the tummy better than the others. I don't know why or how, but it does. I keep it in my purse for emergencies only, just for when I feel a cramp coming on or impending event that's stressful. It always calms me down.

I don't think of it in relation to C or D; it doesn't have enough fiber to affect either.

Hope this helps.

Hey Kimm,
I don't think you can get Equalactin in Canada at all, I've been looking for a long time and haven't been able to find anything. Prodiem does make a supplement that appears to have the same ingredients, but it's not chewable so it may not work the same way.
However, I do know that you can order Equalactin through amazon.com, and they should ship to Canada, so you could always try that. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=hpc-index&field-keywords=equalactin&dispatch=search&results-process=bin&bq=1&bc=none/ref=xs_ap_l_xglna/102-3977025-0523360
Good luck!
Kelly
