Hello Everyone, I'm having an abdominal ultrasound Thursday and I work late tomorrow night, so I'm trying to figure out what I can take with me to work to have to eat. The preparation says that my dinner needs to be fat-free, and I just don't know how rigid they are with that and I can't contact them to check. I was just going to have plain white rice (no soy butter or anything) but I noticed rice does have like 0.2g of fat in it, so I wasn't sure if that was a problem...does anyone know? Thanks Kelly

i'm not a doctor, but i DOUBT that would hurt... i mean, that's a small fraction of a gram, seems pretty trivial.

When I had mine, that same thing confused me too. I called them up and they explained a few things for me. They told me I could have chicken breast (see, not so rigid), so I had that, steamed carrots and a baked potato - at the time I was still eating dairy so I had it with FF sour cream, because they said anything that was made FF was fine.
Hope that helps!

Weird. When I had my ultrasound I didn't have any food involved with it. They just plopped me down and did it, if I recall correctly. Of course, it was when I was a lot younger. Maybe the routine is different for kids?

I had my ultrasound last week -- they told me not to eat anything after midnight the night before, and my appt. was at 7:30 in the morning.

I have one scheduled in two weeks. I was told not to eat anything for 12 hours prior and to drink 32 oz. of water one hour beforehand.
