Is cooked oatmeal good (edible, okay for the tummy) a few days 1-3 after it was cooked? Some foods last a few days and are still okay to eat. Wondering if its the same for oatmeal?

If the oatmeal was in the fridge for a couple days -- and if it smells okay -- it should be fine to eat. If you left it out at room temp I'd be suspicious of it. For the cost and simplicity and making some more, why not just make some more?

I have used leftover oatmeal in baking, though -- fruit cobbler or bread or applesauce cake or something like that, but then I had a LOT of leftover oatmeal and was cooking for a LOT of people then!!

Food does not have to smell bad to have dangerous bacteria in it.

thank you for responding:) i hadn't eaten oatmeal before this, and am now starting the diet. i had been feeling sick so my mom would make the oatmeal for me. we had leftovers that she wanted me to eat bcos she didn't want it to go to waste. it smell different, so i was unsure & i just didn't want to upset my stomach. i'm feeling a little better now so i made myself some this morning. thanks again & have a good day:)
