I was just curious as to where everybody's cramps or pains are. When you get an attack is there a specific area that really, really hurts? or is the pain just everywhere? I have started to notice that my pain is really low. Its very close to my hip bones on both sides, almost like ovarian pain or menstrual cramps. My doctor mentioned that I could have endometriosis because my mom had it and I'm trying to figure out if my pain is different then everybody else's. I am in pain every day! Even when I don't have an attack. ANY advice or input would be soo appreciated! Thanks guys!

This isn't going to help... my IBS comes with what my doctor called "wandering abdominal pains." They move around, from place to place. Sometimes they hang out in my back, oftentimes they stab me in what seems like it should be my ovaries as well. Wish I could be more help.

I get pains quite a bit too - Mine are always on my left side in the area between my belly button and my hip bone. I usually get them in the morning about 10 minutes after I wake up and before I go to the bathroom. My doctor told me that a fiber supplement (I ordered Acacia today!) could help so Im gonna try that out when it gets here. Ive been wanting to get checked out for endometriosis also, is the daily cramping one of the symptoms?

Mine is where my ovaries used to be (if I had them). Sometimes more on my left side. However, it's NEVER every day, never HAS been, only when I had attacks. You said, "I am in pain every day! Even when I don't have an attack." No, that's not my symptoms at all. I haven't had any pain for months now.

Dang that felt good to say. I haven't had any pain for months now. "I haven't had any pain for months now!" WOW! Never thought I'd say THAT!

I think that endometriosis can cause daily cramps depending on where the disease has decided to attach itself. My cramps are all month long and get really bad during my period. Its a scary disease especially since it can cause infertility. I think its a good idea to ask your doctor just in case! You never know! Sometimes I wish I could open myself, take a look, do some readjusting or rewiring and then close myself back up! Maybe one day....

I found that when the pain was just starting up, it was in the very spots you mention. Feels like it's over my ovaries.. then slowly spreads to all over my lower abs. The lower left was always the strongest. (Heat really helped a lot)

you and i could be twins! i first thought i was having an ovary issue--- truthfully i thought someone had wrapped it in barbed wire and then set it on fire. it was on the right side. at first. then it was on both sides. my GYN said i was fine. my doc said i was ok. i had pain all of the dang time. it was always there, but then sometimes as an added bonus whomever put the barbed wire in there dialed up the pain for my extra enjoyment. i would be walking, sitting... whatever, and all the sudden BAM! outta nowhere i would double over. that was cool.

sometimes i would get pain up higher--- it was usually a fluttery thing first then some mild pain (compared to the barbed wire).

apparently IBS often shows as pain down there where you're talking about. my docs were confused at first 'cause they said "it's supposed to be on the left side." WHATEVER. it was on the right then later on the left.... the left side is the end of the large intestine, the right side is the beginning. apparently it's more common for gas and pain to be located at the end of the trip rather than the beginning of the colon. aren't you lucky!? you're just showin' off by having it on both sides, sweetie!

ENTER ACACIA and eating right.... pain is so rare now it's incredible. and when i do get it, it's like amateur hour in there! i laugh at it, now. seriously! then i try to figure out why it's there--- i think of it as a warning sign. maybe i need more sleep or to take some equalactin 'cause i ate something naughty.

anyway, hope this helps.

My worst pain is right where my left ovary used to be but it radiates all over the entire colon, mostly on left side.

If you are really a future doc please specialize in gastroenterology. We need at least one person with IBS who knows what it is like to help others
