Living overseas and shopping in the base commissary my only soy options have been soy milk and tofu. Today when I went shopping I thought I would just check out the cheese section even though they never have anything I can eat. I am so excited because sitting there next to the American Cheese were Veggie Slices. I came right home and made the tuna melt that was in the last news letter and it is wonderful.

Just wanted to share with someone who would understand my excitment over finding cheese I can eat. Janey

Yay! The Veggie Slices are my favorites. I'm SO glad you found them! You must be so excited.

I really am excited. When I saw them in the store I wanted to jump up and down for joy. No one else would understand this they would have thought I was crazy. The little joys in life are so wonderful.

I melted the cheese on top of the tuna on Italian bread under the broiler. It melted nice and tasted great. I didn't eat it cold so I don't know about how it would taste right out of the fridge but I wouldn't normally eat regular American cheese slices that way anyway.

Wait till they get veggie shreds you can cook with! I personally don't like any of the soy cheeses not melted...except Veggie Parmesan..thats good. I make tuna melts or turkey melts( my favorite).
