I'm desperate for a solution to my PMS and moodswings, etc. that go along with my changing menstral cycles. Has anyone ever tried the Estroven line of products? Are they safe?

No, but if it works, PLS tell me. With my fibro, PMS is awful.

Good luck.

Hi Nugget,

Never tried Estroven but I have read that Evening Primrose Oil (available in capsule form in healthfood stores) really helps with the symptons of PMS. You might want to research that and see if maybe it would help.

I have to see the doctor in 2 hours, and I'm going to ask him about Estrasorb. It was featured on the news the other night, a "breakthrough discovery" that might replace HRT (which I've been taking for 35 years now and which they're about ready to take off the market).

Estrasorb is a cream that you massage on your upper thighs every day after your shower. It actually gets absorbed through the skin, so it doesn't go through you as a pill does. It's a good thing.

I'm on premarin, another hysterectomy victim. Went off for 3-4 months and couldn't stand the hot flashes and other stuff so went back on but don't think they'll let me stay on forever. One thing I learned it don't quit cold turkey in the middle of summer with 100 degree weather. If/When I quit again it will be in the winter.

Sandy, I'm so sorry. I was so excited in his office about everything else, the little "Post-It" I had stuck on top of my papers with my note, "Ask About Estrasorb," got buried -- and I forgot to ask. DAMN!

Your story mimics mine to a "T." That's exactly what happened with me. I keep trying to stop taking my Premarin, and immediately the hot flashes and foul moods return. I'm anxious to get off it, but right now I have other priorities.

Again, my apologies. I have to go back to see him in 3 months (that's all he's given me to whip this body into shape). I'll ask him then.

Check back with me, Sandy -- unless you go to the doc in the meantime and can ask your doc.

Sorry, but I'm just flyin' off the wall this afternoon! YIPPEE!

I have tried Estroven. I don't recall any IBS issues with it, but I am very new to this whole IBS thing. At least to being aware of how things I consume affect it. I liked the Estroven, it seemed to help take the edge off of the moodiness, very gently. Although, I don't think anything really makes up fro getting plenty of sleep.

I also shared it with a friend that really struggles with severe PMS, ( I don't think she has any IBS problems ) and she was helped by it too.

There you have it.

thank you for that bit of information. I'm glad to hear it helps. I ordered a free sample off their website. So will give it a try.
