Ok..so I am so glad I have met people who I can actually discuss this with. It is amazing what we all have in common. Never thought my bathroom oddities would ever be displayed on a forum. Alright...here goes..this is detailed so beware. Seems I am going to the bathroom about every three to four days. I am slowly trying to increase my fiber intake and sticking to the diet as always. This past week when it feels like I have to use the bathroom...I go in the bathroom. About halfway through the process of actually going my body stops working so to speek. I try so hard till I am red in the face...straining but there I am sitting on the potty with half of my poop in/out. I sit there for awhile sometimes 15 to 20 minutes...waiting and nothing happens. Any suggestions. I now have hemmorhoids after yesterdays three attempts...aggravating!

Oh bless your little heart, I too suffer this way in and outta the biffy trying ,waiting,sitting. All I can suggest is drink TONS of H20, keep up with the fibre supplments, and do some of th yoga for the C. Hang in there sweetie.

this is a long shot, but i read somewhere that part of this syndrome can be that you feel like you're not finished going even when you are. Maybe that's what's going on?
Anyone remember reading this in Heather's book or elsewhere?

wow man you just described me too
i just said this before in another thread...i go into the potty armed!
i take a hot water bottle and a HOT cup of tea and i will just sit the until i have to!
through a lucky twist of feng shui i can see the TV in my bedroom from my toilet so i can stay there as long as i need to.
it helps to just sit and relax and not tense up, cause if you tense up its over.
good luck...and you are not alone (teehee that sounds so commercial-like )

oh I can so relate to you PLEAAAASSSE don't strain, I know that can be difficult not to do, but try deep breathing and concentrating on relaxing the muscles there. Go in with your favourite magazine, cup of peppermint... You can really do yourself damage if you strain. Peronally I need lots of dietary fibre to poo properly, lots of vegies and cannot eat white flour products, or any level of 'junk' food or processed products....maybe you could try incorporating this?
