I am able to eat anything I fix for dinner from red meat to pork to any kind of veggie. I do seem to have a problem with my IBS at lunch time, does this mean I can eat whatever I want for dinner and that I have to be careful at lunch?

Your problems could be from what you ate the previous day at dinner. Digestion takes awhile and symptoms are not always immediate I know mine aren't! Good Luck!

-- that you have IBS? You can eat red meat and pork? And any kind of veggie? Wow, that's some mild case of IBS you have there!

(i'd absolutley kill for a freaking roadside hotdog covered in saurkraut and sauteed red onions...)

Bev, my mom has been diagnosed with IBS and she what ever she wants whenever she wants. Its soo mild and only bothers her during her period. THATS IT! She eat meat, dairy, HFCS, anything! She once ate cheesecake and a hersheys choclate bar for breakfast, haha!! Her doc told her to eat lots of fiber and now she eats brown rice alot and bran around her pd to avoid the D, but she gets it anyway..but stilL! Talk about a MILD case of IBS!!

i don't necessarily get IBS symptoms right after i eat something bad.... unless it's really high in fat or just a ton of food at once (then, BLAM! insta-D.). sometimes what i eat seems to do fine then, later, after a relatively IBS friendly meal, my symptoms kick in. also, when you eat the wrong foods (even a little at a time over the day) it seems that there is often an cummulative effect-- and it could be something as benign as a banana that seems to send you over the edge. it wasn't the banana- it was the rest of the junk you had all day.

if you don't think that's what's happening, could there possibly be something you're doing at lunch that could be setting you off? like having a late-morning cup of coffee or having mayo on your sammiches or something??? or you could be like me a few years ago before my IBS got reaaaallly bad: maybe you can handle 2 cups of coffee, but not a third, or one soda a day, but not a second one ( especially right after you finish the first).

When I was first diagnosed with IBS - all the nasty tests and gastro doctors ect...my IBS was D and it was very bad! Now, almost 15 years later I am IBS-C, and it ranges from severe to mild. I have young children at home, work full-time, and hubby is back in school, so my life does not allow for special diets, dishes ect.. I know when my body is misbehaving, so I lay off indidvidually at home with a sweet potatoe or something. BUT, I am faithful with the Acacia and Peppermint now for almost 8 weeks, and it has stabilized me and now I can eat pretty much what I want too. I'm so very thankful mine is in a mild stage right now, because I remember severe, and it is NO FUN!! Just listen to your body! Stay well!

Lyndeigh! Haven't you told your Mum about the two types of fibre! No wonder she's still getting the D with bran and brown rice! That'd kill me! Give the poor woman some Acacia instead!

I'd agree with the others...

1. Be glad your IBS isn't that bad.

But also, 2. I'd reckon dinner is hitting you the next day! If I have too many veggies (my usual mistake ), I get bloated straight away, but I don't get the D until the next day. Be more careful!
