ok, I know I have IBS symtoms, but I still for the past two weeks have had the uncomfortableness in my upper abdomen and gassy and bloating feeling. Does anyone else just get this? I don't really get the D or C re-occuring. I am not a doctor but I have taken medical transcriptionist course which you have to learn TONS of stuff (felt like doctor training) lol anyhow, I need a doctor to tell me what is up so I can fix it

-- you DO need to see a doc to see what all is going on in there.

Did you read Janet's post yesterday about her gastritis? She has IBS but had similar symptoms to yours as well, so she went to the doc. They're running tests, but the preliminary findings are gastritis. They put her on meds, and she says she's SOOOOO much better now. She was stressing in her post the importance of seeing a doc if you're suspecting something more than IBS.

You've taken a medical transcription course? I transcribed medical summaries for years when I worked for the last few law firms before I retired. Fun stuff, eh?

Call your doc. You won't be sorry.

Shirl

Do you also have pain on your right upper side? If so, you may have gall bladder problems. They run an ultrasound to rule that out.

Bevrs,
The more I think about it the more I think it could be gastritis. My huggest complaint is gas and bloating in the upper abdomen. When I get up in the morning I drink (start to) a cup of tea peppermint or fennel. Not even half way through I got gas and bloating. No matter what I eat same thing.sometimes I have "feelings" on the right not so much pain. Thanks for the help girls.

If it's gastritis then you should NOT drink the pepperment tea. Pepperment can make you produce more stomach acid, which is probably why you're getting the stomach problems halfway through drinking it. Definately see a doc!
