Just came back from the dr.'s office and it really went much better than I expected.
I explained that I drastically revised my diet, cut coffee and still suffer, especially from spasm and bad gas, D is only if I cheat.
He prescribed Levbid as needed for spasms, Effexor for stress and ku-zyme (pancreatic enzyme) for the gas as over-the-counter meds didn't help the gas. I just hope the combination works, I have to go back in 1 month.
Finally, after 20+ years, a doctor who is at least willing to try to help instead of just blowing you off.
Now if I knew how to affix that great animation to this post like Jenx and Bevrs do I could show you how happy I am. Chat with you guys later -- I only got into work a little while ago.

Wish MY visit with the doc went as well. He's great, very helpful, but kept on me about my blood pressure. He was so adamant about my losing weight -- I thought that was the issue -- but on my follow-up visit Monday he said he wanted me to lose a quick 20 pounds so he wouldn't have to put me on blood pressure medication. Which he did.
I took it and was nauseated all day yesterday. I hate this.

Blah. Doctors go on and on sometimes, don't they! It's where all the hype about Atkins started. Lose the weight slowly and it'll be better for you. How high can your blood pressure be when you've cut out salt and coffee already!

"lose a quick 20 pounds" ???
How did he suggest you do that, chop off your leg?
"lose a quick 20 pounds." Gimme a break. I would have told him, "I'll lose a quick 185 when I fire you and get a rational doctor!"
But that's just me.
I'm sorry he put you on meds anyway and that they made you ookie....

That is great you found a good doctor. They are hard to find, but there are good ones out there.

Yuck Bev, Sorry your doc was so unhelpful. I can totally relate, my doc once told me I needed to lose about 30 (quickly of course) and I was devestated! I was still a teenager and concerned enough about my weight, plus, it was medicine he put me on that caused me to gain in the first place! Doctors! Kelly

I'm sorry your visit turned out like that. How does he expect you to lose a "quick" 20? Sometimes I think they are out of their mind! Just take it easy and don't stress and I hope you adjust better to the new meds so you're not sick.

I'm SO SORRY! But, please don't bang your head into a wall. We like your head!!
Seriously, what med are you on? Ho long are you gonna be on it? Did you call the doc about the side effects? I hope you feel better soon....
Love, Ruchie
