You are not alone. Mine is also slow and agonizing when I have an attack. I can feel the cramping starting in my right side, move around my back into my left side where it feels like I can't even catch my breath. Then it graduallly works its way out. This usually takes at least an hour if not longer. Sometimes my legs actually cramp up from sitting so long. It's a horrible thing to go through, that's for sure.

Consider yourself sort of lucky that it is only an hour for you instead of 2-6 hrs.

Bev, I missed this post too! I don't understand why that happens. I read everything marked unread religiously so how could I miss things? Maybe I'll ask the technical folks.
Anyway, you're right about my friend needing to give up coffee. Unfortunately I've found that as long as people are still in denial, any suggestions just make them dig in their heels and get stubborn. Subconciously he knows damn well he shouldn't be drinking it, so I wouldn't be telling him anything he didn't already know.
He'll figure it out when he's ready. And then he'll wonder how he could have been such an idiot all those years!!
