I have been dx with ibs about 1 yr ago and have been on every medicine out there. Are there any "new" drugs?

Hi there!

I had anxiety too -- real bad. I couldn't leave the confines of my home. Just 3 months ago I was a mess, and I e-mailed Heather, trusting she would not let me down. She didn't! She turned me on to Michael's hypnotherapy program. I was hesitant because I'm not the "hypnosis type" -- but I did it anyway because I was desperate.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE! People notice it in me, hubby REALLY notices it in me, and, more importantly, I notice it in me. Go to the hypnosis board and check out the posts there; read others' reactions -- I highly recommend it. My anxiety was gone before I had finished the program. Now I have none at all, and am going to start Michael's other program in 2 weeks. Yaay!

Bev

P.S.: I'll bet you wouldn't need any "new drugs" with Michael's help!

I agree with Bev especially about the drugs. Not sure if you were referring to stomach meds or anxiety meds but I have found to be feeling much better now that I am not taking my daily stomach meds. - just occasional Immodium. I've gotten more luck with using Acacia, peppermint tea and getting a grip on my diet. And this board offers a lot of encouragment and just the feeling like you are not alone!

Welcome! The best person to answer your question is a Doctor. You may have an underlying anxiety disorder that may need treatment. If the anxiety is around IBS, there are certain antidepressants that have proven to be effective. Your Doc can help you with this. If he/she can't, see another one.
I have been med- free since I started Heather's diet. You may find that as your IBS symptoms decrease, so will your anxiety and vice versa. Your IBS symptoms may decrease if your anxiety does.
Just a few things to think about. As I said, we're glad you're here.
