I am trying to find out what kind/brand of Mayonnaise I can eat. I have IBS-D. I can't afford to shop at health food stores, I have found that a grocery store here in Tampa, FL does carry some organic items, but I have not found a organic mayo, what kinds are there and which ones are safe?

Do a search for this, Brianne. We discussed this last December, and there are a lot of posts about it. I'm a D also, and I eat Miracle Whip Lite (the fat-free tastes like cardboard). We took a poll to see who liked what best -- lite mayo versus Miracle Whip Lite -- you'll get some good input.

Although organic's good as the better the food, the better it is for our tummies, don't fret about this if the cost is putting you off. Normal would be fine. I've just changed to Hellmann's new Extra-Light Mayo.

Ooh, I didn't know Hellman's had an extra light! I buy their light and it works fine. It's still mostly fat, but if you use it sparingly it shouldn't be a problem at all!

Brianne -

I bought some Spectrum organic mayo. It seems to be fine. Although, I don't think regular light mayo did much to me either, never seemed to have many problems with it. But try the Spectrum and see how it works for you.

I got mine at a health food store.

Let us know if it helps!

Thank you very much!
Nice to see a local 'round here...

In a way, I would have preferred to not be welcomed here [i.e. not had this disorder]...

Seriously,
These boards have been very helpful to me.
Heather's books have also been of great import.
How long have you had the dreaded IBS?
