I know I should be on the Recipe Board with this but I need an answer fast! I want to try Kreeīs Oatmeal Mollases Cookie Recipe posted on Heatherīs Newsletter and the only Ingredient I am lacking is Mollases. I live in Mexico and spent about 3 hours looking for it in the grocery stores and cant find it and they dont even know what it is. What can I use in place of it...Syrup?? or is there a way to make something similar to it?? Any input would be helpful...Im dying to try them and I have guests coming and want to have them ready for them as a treat! Thanks...Michelle.

Molasses is this really thick bittersweet black syrup and unfortunately, there's no substitute (at least that I know of). You might find it in the baking aisle if anywhere. I recommend you shelf this recipe just for now. Try Heather's peppermint fudge cake (it's really easy and you probably have all the ingredients) - your guests will LOVE it! or TessLouise's antidepressant brownies - they're divine.

Hi HanSolo! Michelle posted this on the Recipe Exchange also, and I pointed her to this: web page - just in case you ever need a molasses sub.
